Rated5out of5byDiane Bikes BostonfromThis is my third pair!I wear a pair of these every day, at work, riding my bike or walking around the city. This purchase was my third pair. I have flat feet, pronate in, narrow heels, bunions, and a wide front of foot. It is rare for me to find shoes that fit, I usually don't expect comfort. These feel as if I have dipped my feet into shoe-paint, or had custom shoes made for me, they are so comfortable. There is great arch support due to the shape of the sole and the lacing. The pieces along the side are not for cosmetics, they integrate with the lacing for support that hugs the foot. The back of the shoe has a device which hugs the foot, especially important to me to not step out of them. Finally, the support from the midfoot back allows the front of the foot to have plenty of room and not be driven into the front of the shoe. I wear a thin sock with them as I don't like the feel of a bare foot in a shoe. Since I have worn the style for over a year, each pair feels as comfy as the last. I don't have pain from the bunions. This support changes the angle of my foot in relation to the ground; I no longer have knee or hip pain. I hope that Merrill will keep making this style, but I keep buying them just in case they stop. I wish they made the same shoes in black with black soles and patent leather trum for me to wear for dressier occasions!

Rated5out of5byIndy LaurenfromSeriously ComfortableThese shoes are seriously comfortable and seriously stylish. The back of the shoe is very low, so you'll need to either go barefoot (which I hate to do, since it just ruins shoes) or wear no-show socks. I'm no runner, but these are perfect for everyday wear and they go with everything. (I have the gray/black ones.) No arch support, as with any of the "barefoot"-type shoes, but still very comfortable.

Rated5out of5byNanceefromI'm impressed!I tried these because I like being barefoot best. These "gloves" didn't disappoint. They are lightweight, allowed my feet to grip with no "buzzes" or cramped toesies. I had to remind myself that I was wearing foot gear. These feel very natural. Thank you!

Rated5out of5byLuckee13fromGreat for long distance walkingI am training for a 3-day so long distance walks every weekend. I am a runner, mostly on trails so all my shoes are made with traction for the trails. I looked for walking shoes but then someone said if you are a runner you don't need walking shoes, wear street running shoes. I am a minimalist so when I saw the reviews on these shoes, I went for it.
So far I have walked 4 weekends with distances between 10-15 miles each. LOVE THESE SHOES!!!! Sometimes I lightly job during these long distance walks (because I get bored walking and I love to run) and they are comfy for running as well. However, the traction is not great so I wouldn't take these bad boys on the trails with me. At least not for running. Crushed limestone trails, maybe, but not the rocky ones. Streets definitely. I am looking to buy a second pair so I have back up for my 3-day walk (walking 20 miles each day.) Also, note I have worn with and without socks and they are fine either way.
As for fit, my feet swell so I went with the size 10 even though in regular shoes I do size 9.5. The toe box had plenty of room. I don't have wide feet but they are not skinny either. These really do fit like a glove.

Rated4out of5byConnieSfromComfy and functionalThese are very comfortable and look "cute". I have walked (not too rough trails) and excercised in them and liked their simple functionality. That said, I am reluctant to run in them. They seem a bit too minimal for that given my "senior" feet.

Rated5out of5byjeriofromGreat everyday shoeI purchased the Merrell Dash for an upcoming trip that will encompass both city and outdoor activities. As we have not yet departed, I have been using the Dash for dog walks - about two miles a day on paved walkways. Since I usually look for a shoe with a lot of support (and often use custom orthotics), I am both surprised and delighted at how great my feet feel wearing the Dash. I have a bunion and it can become very painful on even a short walk in the wrong shoes. Not the case here - no pain at all and no break in period. Very thin socks or liners work better with this shoe than a sock with any cushioning.
