    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. REI Kingdom 6 Tentis rated4.3797out of5by79.
Rated4out of5byfromKingdom 6 - older versionDon't lose heart when you read reviews of breaking poles with this tent. Yes, it is not designed to withstand very strong winds so use all available tie downs (buy extra pegs and guys) and orient the tent with the vestibule door into the wind if possible so it can shed the wind. If you have the extra garage added (I highly recommend it) you can put that end into the wind as well. I picked up this tent at an REI garage sale several years back super cheap because the cross over pole had broken at the center top and torn a hole in its fabric sleeve and a 4 inch slice in the fly as well. I sent the pole away for repair and taped the fly and I was back in business, practically good as new. But the pole broke again in the same place (didn’t tear any holes). What I now do is use a repair sleeve on the broken pole and locate the front to back pole over the top of the crossover pole so that it does not put any upward stress in the middle of the crossover pole. With the repair sleeve in place as reinforcement and the other pole not pressing up underneath, it hasn’t broken again. I’ve procured another repair sleeve just in case and always carry repair tape. REI has modified the tent’s design since my version. My garage attaches to the tent with plastic clips (no problems to date) instead of the new zipper. Also the screen sections on my tent are asymmetric, on the left side of one room and the right side of the 2nd room. I can see where the new ‘screen room’ would be more desirable to many. It goes with out saying that the tent is extremely roomy, easy to put up and take down and fits nicely into its storage/carry bag along with a footprint, garage, repair tape and extra stakes and guylines (yes, you should purchase more stakes and guylines extra). Of any tent I’ve seen, I like this one the best for car camping.

Rated5out of5byfromAwesomeIt's big. It's heavy. Long set up time. It's worth it. The best tent I have owned. I also have a Big Agnes Mad House 4, REI half dome 2 plus and some other cheap tents, but nothing can compare to how roomy, durable and well constructed this tent is. I also bought the garage extension for the tent and its worth it. Might be pricey, but still the best value. I've had this tent for 3 years now and still feels brand new. Comes in a wonderful backpack that you can wear for easy transport. 2 thumbs up!.

Rated1out of5byfromCan't stay up during any bad weatherWe wanted to love this tent because it is so spacious and being able to stand up inside makes it so much easier to get kids dressed etc. The first time we set it up a gust of wind immediately flattened it to the ground and bent the poles. So we straightened the poles, bought a bunch of shock cord and extra stakes and figured we would make it work. We found that nothing could keep it stable in even moderate winds and the last straw was when it flattened down on us and bent all the poles during a slight dusting of snow. We returned it...

Rated4out of5byfromGreat tent with plenty of roomI love the headroom. I'm almost 6ft tall and even with boots on I can walk the entire length of the tent without having to bend over. I used to camp mostly with a small 2 man backpacking tent but I'm to the point where I want a little more room and comfort. With a cot, chair, table, and footlocker in there I still have plenty of room to move around. So far I have taken this on 2 campouts. The first one was at our week long Boy Scout winter camp. The nights got really cold -- in the 20's -- and the Tech Garage was a great addition to block the cold wind and still be out side. The second one was a weekend camput where the wind pickedup justt a little bit, maybe 30 mph or so. Even without putting the guy lines out I had no problems. I'm waiting to be in one of our spring "showers" where we get 3 inches of rain in 2 hours to see if I stay dry but from the contruction it looks like it will do just fine. I do love the bag it comes in. There are pockets on the outside for storing stakes and guy lines. The inside has 3 sections. A small pocket in the middle for all of the poles. And the 2 larger sections are big enough to put the tent, rain fly, its ground cloth, and the tech garage. Its not difficult to put up but it is a little intersting. You have to get a number of the poles clipped on before it will stand by itself. I can do it by myself but it would be easier with 2 people. It is a bit heavy, but I am comparing that against a 2 man backpacking tent so... The only thing I wish they had done is to make it so I could totally unzip the vestibule off the back. Make it like the front where the tech garage attaches. Then you would have the option of the smaler vestibules on the front and back, or put a tech garage on the front and back to give lots of room.

Rated3out of5byfromPlenty of roomPicked this up mid-summer and finally got around to using it in October. Pretty straight forward putting up and can easily be done with two people. The D-type shape is a double edge sword; great for room and standing up but if the wind blows broadside, kiss it goodbye(>20mph). Only complaints are the quality control and guy wire stakes. QC on this one was very poor. They put two sets of zippers on one door and none on the other. Also whoever the cheap bean counter is for REI that thought to not include stakes for the guy wires should be fired! I have gone through 10 tents is my short existence and every one of them had stakes for this. Overall still a nice tent for comfort camping just buy some extra stakes and double check the construction.

Rated4out of5byfromGreat tent for car campingI did plenty of pre-sale research, and it was a choice between this one, and a couple different Coleman tents. I went with the REI tent, and I'm glad I did. It was comfortable and fairly easy to setup, with only myself and my 10-year-old son. The tent was big enough for a queen air mattress and lots of room left over. It did get a bit chilly at night, because of the copious screening material, but other than that, no complaints. Oh and pretty expensive, but I think it was worth it. Overall a very nice tent.

Rated5out of5byfromGreat family tentBought the Kingdom 6 for the family car camping maiden voyage and could not have been more pleased. Great feaures for varying weather conditions, easy and intuitive to set up such that my 6yo actively helped put it up and break it down each time, with lots of room for the 4 of us and our gear. Withstood a relatively severe windstorm with no issue the second night. A bit bulky, but excellent for car camping. We look forward to using it for many years to come. Had originally considered the 4, but are happy to have the extra space inside.

Rated5out of5byfromAwesomMy wife decided that she can enjoy camping, so we moved up from our awful 4-person tent to the Kingdom 6. I was able to pick up the Garage add on at the REI garage sale as well, so there is plenty of room. I'm highly impressed with the design of this tent. It did collect moisture between the fly and the tent on a cool, damp trip, but none leaked in. I had to set it back up at home to get it to dry out well enough for storage though. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a family sized tent.
