Rated5out of5byPaleoistafromperfect casual yet elegant caprisThese capri-length pants are so absolutely wonderful that I bought a second pair a few weeks after buying my first pair! I wear them not only on bike rides, but as all-purpose, casual, attractive, stylish clothes.
In the store, they are presented on the rack as a single garment, with a pair of Novara boy-style bike shorts attached to the outer capris with little strips of fabric, so you're really getting two separate garments. After I bought them, when I got home, I cut the fabric strips which held the two garments together, so that I can wear them either as bicycling clothes, that is, with the padded bike shorts underneath the outer capris, or as casual clothes, that is, just the capris alone.
The padded bike shorts are great -- they're the same comfortable, cushy, well-designed Novara women's padded bike shorts you can buy separately in REI's bicycling department. The padding is perfect, and it's all in the right places, too. (Not all padded bike garments have the padding situated or designed in such a way that they protect my sitting bones, which feels weird, uncomfortable, and just doesn't work, no mattter what kind of saddle you have on your bike. )
I'm 5"4", 120 pounds, and the size small fits me perfectly. The padded bike shorts in size small are a bit snug on me, so for comfort's sake sometimes I wear a pair of size medium padded bike shorts, that I bought at a previous time, under the capris.
The fabric of these capris is stretchy, breathable, perfectly comfortable in every way. There are two discreet front pockets, closed by hidden zippers, and there's an inner drawstring at the waist, so you can tighten the waist if you want or need to. I ignore the inner drawstring, and just wear a flexible, elegant, cloth belt on the capris (there are belt loops at the waist.) There's a reflecting Novara "N" logo at the left hip, and another on the right pants leg on the outside of the knee. I like those touches. The "N" logo is elegant, classy, and attractive.

Rated5out of5bycathy parrot ladyfromgreat long shortsthe only improvement i would make is to have the inner lining shorts be easily removeable --snaps on loops--so the outer garment could be worn without the liner because the shorts are very flattering and could be worn for other than biking..i also like that they are any color but black

Rated5out of5byLauriefromI love these pants!I love these bike pants. The fabric has stretch which helps them to fit well and to move with me as I bike. The length is great for people like me who don't want to wear the shorter shorts. There are two parts to this pant: the spandex type short with the gel seat and the outer pant which can be worn with or without the gel seat. I often wear these capris without the gel seat even when I am not biking. I have worn them biking in a downpour and they did fine. (they are not waterproof, but did not get heavy and bog me down. The inside gel pant also got soaked, but I never felt like I was sitting in water. Today I crashed on my bike and I found the fabric was quite durable. Even though I bruised and skinned my knee on the gravel path, the fabric looks as good as new. I think it helped protect my skin as well. When I first looked at the gel seat, I thought it might be too much padding, but it has actually helped me be much more comfortable on my longer rides. One of my friends recommended these to me, and I have a friend who is going down next week to buy herself a pair. I will most likely buy myself another pair since I wear them 4-5 times a week.

Rated5out of5bytennessee_cricketfromLove Them!Okay, first off, I am IMPOSSIBLE to fit. I am 4 ft 10 inches and too many pounds. I got extra large - perfect for me. Capri length means they go to my ankles - expected and welcome.
The fabric is light enough I can roll them up and use as shorts. Since my current riding is stationary training indoors, I will use them rolled up for now. Currently they fit, but I hope in the future I will NEED a belt. And they have belt loops! How nice!
I bought 5 pairs to start with about 2 weeks ago. Today I bought 5 more. Great price, great pants. They will compress flat in luggage and all 10 will take up about the space of 2 pairs of jeans if I cut out the inner shorts - which I am considering so I can use that part by itsel.
What is not to like?

Rated5out of5bycheckingacctinfofromLooks nice - not obviously bike pantsI like these quite a bit. They are the first biking specific piece of clothing I've ever purchased. If it isn't clear from the description these are ordinary peddle pushers pants with an entire separate biking shorts swen in to their insides. The biking shorts are only attached by a few cords along with waist line. Very complicated bit of clothing but it ends up working quite well - though they can be a bit of a puzzle if they get twisted up - like when they come out of the wash.
The outer pants are plenty loose enough to hide the bike shorts underneath. It feels a bit bulky but is fairly invisible to others that you have big ole padded bike shorts on. I use these to commute to the gym and grocery store all the time and do not feel self conscience walking around the store in them.
The pockets are pretty good. They could be a little deeper but do ok. I keep my keys and a bandana in them when biking and have no fear of losing either. I also put a chapstick in my pockets most days - these will squirt out occasionally - so - like I said, they could be deeper.
I got the dark brown because they were significantly on sale compared to the black. I like the color since they look more like ordinary pants.
The length is nice too. They look very much like regular pants but they are made of quick drying fabric and have some stretch to them when biking. They are plenty short enough to not get in the way of gears, etc. I've worn them on 95 to 50 degree F days so far - comfortable so far.
The only bad thing I can really say is about the sizing. I'm a size 16-18 right now so I bought the extra large and they are LARGE. The waist band of the outer pant is several inches loose. The pants only stay up due to the inner bike shorts and the straps from them to the outer pant. Without them, these pants would come right down. The waist band has a draw string but it's not very user friendly. Still, it looks ok since the inner shorts hold it up. Occasionally the crotch of the outer pant hangs down and will catch on the seat when I change from standing on the peddles to sitting back down on the seat. I've gotten somewhat used to this and just make sure I come straight down on the seat instead of sliding back on to it.
I ordered the large to see if they fit any better but they are much too TIGHT. The thighs are much too snug. Around the waist is ok to snug but the inner shorts can be seen. So, I'm not quite sure where the size 14-16 women are supposed to go - I'm guessing the large will still be too small and the extra large too large. Still, it's worth ordering and trying - everyone is shaped differently.
Does the padding really help? This I'm not sure about. Biking really only irritates me where my bones hit the seat and it doesn't seem like the padding exactly extends that far. The padding it more in the crotch area - which isn't really a comfort problem for me - but I'm rarely on a bike for more than 10 miles at a time. Still, I'm glad I got these and would definitely recommend - especially if you can get them at a discount like I did.

Rated5out of5byvyfromSo comfortable! These are the most comfortable bike capris I have ever worn, by far. The fabric is so light and stretchy but feels durable. The bike short leg bands aren't too tight. They are not binding anywhere. They provide good coverage for ample hips. They feel completely free and airy, which is rare for bike clothes. And the length is flattering. These are my first choice for any ride.
