Marmot Super Mica Rain Jacket - Men'sis rated4.2out of5by5.
Rated5out of5byPunkrocknjfromDry and LightThis jacket kept me nice and dry during a windy downpour while sailing from Nantucket to Woods Hole. It's light and compressible. Will fit most anywhere. The styling is very technical looking if you are into that.

Rated2out of5byMr CoolfromNot for a downpourI have had this jacket for about a month now and was only able to use it in light rain. It rocked. Packs well into my pack and a go to for after a day of climbing or full day of alpine climbing. It's also great for around camp when the breeze kicks up. I can put the jacket on and walk the dog for 10 minutes in light rain. Yesterday I took the Super Mica out in a downpour for 30 minutes. The jacket did keep most of my clothing dry but I felt damp and the jacket was soaked. The rain never beeded up. If you want something lightweight in the rain, add some more ounces to the original 9oz as the coat will soak up water and not repell it like I would imagine a waterproof coat to do. Get this thing for emergencies and wind. Don't get it for you primary rain layer.

Rated5out of5byTelluride TravfromIncredible Rain JacketI live in an area where Monsoons hit hard and fast. The ability to reach into my pack, snag this baby out and have it on within seconds it key. It fits very well. I'm 6'4" and the XXL is perfect. I also wear a C-Back 24/7. This jacket is new so the new added Backpack Strap fabric will be tested this summer. More to come. Very happy with the jacket at this point.

Rated4out of5byMcQfromStronger that you expectI was initially concerned because it seamed to be too flimsy, but it it tougher than it looks. I've only have it about 6 months but I'm very happy so far. It's the lightest waterproof jacket and packs away very small. Perfect for day hikes in the summer, and keeps you dry in a downpour. Just don't expect any warmth from it. Small enough to carry with you on every trip.

Rated5out of5bySilver BullitfromFantastic Rain JacketI love this rain jacket for summer hiking or spring/fall layering. I had read reviews of last years model (sizes ran small/snug) and knew to buy 1 size larger than I usually wear. This makes sense anyway since it allows me to layer comfortable and keep mobility. The coat is amazingly light and almost compresses into my first.
As for how is functions in poor conditions, I hiked in it for 14 miles up Clingman's Dome in a torrential downpour one day last summer. The jacket kept me bone dry and was extremely breathable. The pit zips let out the heat but while keeping out the water. My favorite feature of the jacket is the adjustable hood. This is the first jacket I've ever owned where I didn't have to tilt my head back in the rain to see out from under it. The bungey adjustment is located perfectly and hood visor stayed put all day. I also appreciate the non slip pads on the shoulders and hips to reinforce/ protect the delicate material from backpacks. My only word of caution would be to avoid bushwacking or situations where the jacket could get caught on snagged on a branch and tear.
