Comments about Stanley Nineteen13 One Handed Vacuum Mug:
It's a great mug, but the seal leaks a bit right when you fill it up with a hot drink. After a few seconds, it stops, and is rock-solid after that. Flipping the o-ring over seems to solve the leak problem altogether. Keeps coffee piping hot for several hours, too.

Comments about Stanley Nineteen13 One Handed Vacuum Mug:
At first, I had no problems with this mug, and then started having the same problems others have described with leaks. Simple solution: take the main o-ring that seals the lid to the mug off and flip it upside down. Having done this, I have had no leaks whatsoever, and I regularly mix my coffee, sugar, and milk by throwing all in together, closing it up, and turning the mug back and forth like a rain stick. No leaks now!
If yours leaks, try it, and you should find, like I have, that you now have THE BEST vacuum insulated mug out there.
I would have given it five stars if there wasn't a problem to solve in the first place. Don't know if it's faulty design or poor quality control (maybe the o-rings are being installed upside down?), but that issue is the only thing preventing this mug from being perfect, and it is an issue that can be fixed.

Comments about Stanley Nineteen13 One Handed Vacuum Mug:
I bought this after seeing it highly reviewed by another cyclist's blog. I was in need of another travel mug and thought this would be good because it could also be used for biking, as it is leak-proof and fits in a standard water bottle cage.
The design is very well thought out, for a simple thing like an insulated mug, anyway. It stays sealed until you push a small button when you want to drink. The button placement is right where it needs to be and turned out to be more convenient than I thought. Pretty natural, and has been absolutely leak-free, even when carried in a backpack.
It's tall, but not too tippy. I can tip it 20-30 degrees before it'll fall over, but even if it does fall over, no liquid spills out.
Cleaning requires disassembling the lid into three pieces, but it comes apart and goes back together again extremely easily. The first time I went to wash it, I thought it would be inconvenient, but it turned out not to be.
There is a piece that snaps onto the lid that would keep dirt or mud or whatever from the spout. I haven't made use of it yet, and it does get in the way a bit when drinking, but it can be easily removed if/when you don't want or need it.
Most importantly, this keeps things hot for a long, long time. I'm writing this review at 2:00pm, drinking hot coffee I poured into it at 9:30am. That's 4.5 hours and going.
The other weekend I was a course marshal for some snowshoe and fat-bike races. I was standing out in a field, in 10-degree F temperatures, and my coffee was staying hot for hours. Very cool (pardon the pun).
I never thought I'd geek out about a mug, but this thing is impressive and will be going a lot of places with me.

My wife loves these mugs because she knocks them over all the time and they don't spill a drop.
The seals are improved on newer mugs. The lids can be hard to remove on mugs with the older seal.

The first one I bought was defective and it couldn't keep any hot beverages warm for more than an hour... Luckily, I was able to return it for a replacement. 2nd time around, the product actually works. I can't say the mug is perfect, but it keeps my drink warm until I finish it (~4 hrs). Even though my drink is still warm, it's not as warm as I thought it'd be...

Comments about Stanley Nineteen13 One Handed Vacuum Mug:
I bought this mug specifically because I was looking for something I could put coffee in for my morning bicycle commute, and not worry about leaking all over my bag. Unfortunately the first time I used it it did just that. It wasn't upside down or anything in there, but still leaked from the seal around the lid due to jostling. I called REI and they quickly sent me a replacement. The replacement arrived and leaked from the exact same spot. I'm returning both mugs. I will say that the mug does a great job of keeping things hot, so would work well for a car commute or just around the office or house.

I bought this travel mug because I was sick of having cold coffee within an hour of getting to work.
I put my coffee in the stanley mug around 0600, it's still warm by 0900, it's amazing, I love it.
Bonus points go to the lid being easily disassembled for easy cleaning, I never knew if my old travel mug lid was getting clean or not.

I had been looking everywhere for a coffee container that has a button on it and of course REI has it. I should have known. It doesnt leak and it keeps things hot for hours. I love it and I already am buying them as gifts for others.
Comments about Stanley Nineteen13 One Handed Vacuum Mug:
This is a good mug, but just a little expensive. With the other reviewers that had their mugs leak, I believe they just needed to "prime" their mug after pooring the coffee/tea in. After I pour my drink in, I push the button a couple of times to release the pressure and have no issues after that. I ride my bike to work (9mi one way) everyday and this mug comes with me every morning. It is a large mug that keeps my coffee hot for a long time, so I just fill it in the morning, and I'm good for the rest of the day. I would definitely recommend this to a friend, or buy another.
