Comments about Novara Strada Bike - 2013:

I am 6'1" (34" inseam) & got the XL & it fit me very well. I have been riding a hybrid & I was concerned about a rough ride from the Strada but was very pleasantly surprised. It rides & handles very well. The only learning curve is the brakes & shifter. I have to keep reminding myself to take my hands off of the comfy handle bar to reach down to the brake or shifters. The handle bar has a very comfortable flat spot on either side of the stem where you can rest your hands. Coming from a hybrid, I find this bike to be very fast and ez to pedal. Wish I had it last year when I did my first 54 miler. All joy & no complaints, so far.

Comments about Novara Strada Bike - 2013:

I've put about 100 miles on this bike now and I am not disappointed with my purchase. The women's specific bikes don't quite fit me (5'10" 170lb) but the large in this men's frame was a perfect match. I love how responsive the shifting is and how easily I can maneuver this bike on corners. Compared to the last bike I was on, the Strada is much more lightweight and much easier to climb hills with. Overall this is a great entry level road bike for the price.

Comments about Novara Strada Bike - 2013:

I have been mountain biking on an nice entry level bike for several years and was interested in buying a road bike and getting into road cycling and triathlons. After doing considerable research and learning all about components and what not I decided to take advantage of one of REI's sales which included Novara bikes and after picking this one up I was sold.

It is lighter than the divano and has better components for not a huge price increase. Its responsive, fast and compared to other brands of similar component levels a much better deal. The seat is surprisingly comfortable even without padded shorts on.

I have only had this bike for a little over a month, but the rides I have taken it on so far have been fantastic. Excellent bike for the money.

Comments about Novara Strada Bike - 2013:

You definitely need to adjust the seat before riding it because the angle that it ships with is painful. Once I bought a pair of bike shorts and adjusted the seat angle I could ride for hours without any discomfort.

Comments about Novara Strada Bike - 2013:

I hadn't purchased a really "good" bike since my 1969 Stingray so you gotta know I take a long time to make a smart purchase! I wanted a bike for two purposes: 1) cross-training 2) long distance rides. So far, the Strada has matched my needs.

Still getting use to the forward weighted pitch compared to the hybrid bike I have been riding for so many years and with each ride it feels better. I can't compare the Strada with anything else since I didn't demo other bikes but I'm very happy and unlike other reviewers I find the seat (so far) very comfortable.

Comments about Novara Strada Bike - 2013:

Went from Trek 1990s MTB to this after 10+year layoff (family issues). This bike was a nightmare to obtain (would have been 3+ month backorder had not REI and I done some tricks to expedite).

This bike is VERY responsive. BTW I am 63YO and it makes me feel 10-20 years younger. It lets me accellerate rapidly, turn responsively, climb OK (I am fat) and descend blazingly (I am fat and fearless).

I do not baby this bike. I pedal hard 100% of time - uphill, downhill, flat. THIS BIKE IS FAST!!!

I got L. Should have got M. Am 5'10 (5'9 is L/M border but I have very long torso short legs).
            '
Even so, this bike FLIES!!! Can accelerate from 15mph to 20 in a few revs. Goes through turns very well - I have not yet found the limit. Ride is better than you would expect from an AL frame. This is my first AL bike. I became addicted to steel when AL meant Cannondale which meant major bum ache. This AL with C forks feels almost as good as steel with way less weight.

I LOVE this bike. Need to win lottery so I can quit work and spend more time riding!!!

Comments about Novara Strada Bike - 2013:

This is my first bike and I love it. I wish that I had more knowledge about bikes to really be able to 'sell' it, but it has been a great bike. I haven't had any issues with the mechanics or comfort level. I have had the bike for about 2 months and have put about 1000 miles on it. This is going to be a great bike to continue to train with and to work towards my goal of doing triathlons.

The seat is a killer. After only three rides I need an new seat desparatly. This is my second Novara. Same story. The bike over all is good and the REI spoils the whole thing whth few minor components. Shame
