by fromThe Greatest Socks of All Time! Get a few pairs of these socks and you'll never want to wear anything else. They do all the things they say they will. They show very little wear, and fit like new even after more than one time wearing them. I love these socks and recommend them to people whenever I get a chance.

by fromI will never buy any other pair of socks Take a look at Patagonia's Common Threads Pledge (quick google search) I feel These socks fall right in line with that pledge. I received two pairs as a Christmas gift and i believe with two more pairs i'm honestly set for life. You can't beat the lifetime guarantee but they are so well made i don't think that won't be much an issue. As a test i wore a pair a week straight with light duty work. No smell, no stretch, all i did was lay them inside out over night. When the weather clear's i have a big hike planned so i will return to comment it's performance then.

by fromExcellent socks! I'm a big fan of those Smartwatchamacalit socks, and always will be, but my newest trail shoes fit just a tad bit smaller than normal. Rather than give up on the shoes I went looking for socks with slightly less bulk. I knew Darn Toughs only by reputation and when I found them on the rack at REI I noticed that they're well padded on the bottom and around the heel but less so on the top and around the ankle. I decided to buy them and if they didn't work out with my trail shoes they certainly look good enough for casual wear. As it turns out, they're perfect for everything!

by fromBest on planet I'm a total convert on wool socks except for white athletic socks and hardly wear anything else. These are best on planet, though some of the smartwool socks are a close second.

by fromHappy warm feet These are great socks. Tried these after wearing out two pairs of smatrwool socks very quickly. Haven't had to try out the warranty return guarantee yet, but I'm trying my best to wear these out. My only complaint is I should have bought the next size up. I have a pair of low cut in the same size and they fit perfect, but the taller ones are just a tad small.

by fromThru-hike tested, thumbs up I got these socks on my 2013 NOBO thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. They replaced some Smartwool's which had gotten their first hole within 100 miles. I needed a sock that would last more than a week, and the Darn Toughs are those socks. My first pair went over 1000 miles before the first hole appeared. They carry a lifetime guarantee, but I did not utilize it because I felt I had gotten way more than my money's worth. By the end of the thru-hike, Darn Toughs were the dominant choice in my hiking circle.

by fromTruly a lifetime sock! I was given a pair of Darn Tough Hike/Trek socks about five years ago with the purchase of a pair of Zamberlan 760 Steep hiking boots and I've never looked back. They are the only socks I wear for anything - period. From the label I see they are made of 69% Merino Wool, 27% Nylon, and 4% Lycra Spandex. On the back of the package is says Unconditional Lifetime Guarantee. "If you can wear these socks out, we'll replace them. Free of charge. No questions asked. For life. When you're really serious about something you make it yourself." That statement was signed by Ric Cabot the owner of Cabot Hoisery Mills, Inc. I work as a professional firefighter and these are the only socks I wear at work also. They fit well, they're comfortable beyond belief, they stay in place. I've never had a hot spot or a blister while wearing these socks, ever. I still have the very first pair of these and they have logged well over a thousand hiking and working miles and, while not as good as new, are still doing a great job for me. The elastic, or whatever it is, that holds them in place works great, they still cushion my feet, and they don't ever take on a bad odor. At this point, I would really feel guilty sending them in for a replacement against the lifetime warranty as I've received my money's worth a hundred times over but I AM wondering if Ric Cabot has ever had to replace a worn out pair. I seriously doubt it. Best of all - they are made right here in the U. S. of A. in the state of Vermont.

by fromThe only socks for me. I bought my first pair of Darn Tough socks 7 years ago. Since then I have bought a couple dozen more pairs in various heights, weights, and colors. They are now the only socks I wear for any purpose. Hiking, biking, running, skiing, mountaineering, work, travel, leisure - if I have socks on my feet they are these. I have NEVER worn a pair out. Not one pair! I still wear the very first ones, and they show so little wear that I can not distinguish them from any other pair that color. These thinks are like some sort of super-Merino or something. No residual odor, great temp regulation, great moisture management, stay up perfectly, and very comfy. I wash them in a normal wash cycle and air dry. Otherwise no special care. Their very best use, in my opinion, is for backpacking. I can bring just two pairs on a trip - one to wear and one to wash/dry. They don't lose their shape, stretch out, stink, or anything else. What more do you need?
