The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
by JesseZfromFails to give correct read-outCarried on my road bike for several months in anticipation of needing it in an emergency. It was difficult to get anything but 0 pressure read-out. (I know you are thinking that I didn't have the valve open.) After many tries to seat it on the valve and confirming the valve was not obstructed; it finally gave a reading of 55psi 35bar (the actual pressure was 95 psi.) This product failed when I needed it the most.

by jake31fromway offjust bought this and tested it against 2 other pump gauges that have some measure of accuracy. The pressure this recorded was way low, my 29er tire was very hard, at least 35 psi or higher and this thing read 19 psi. do not buy this, waste of time and money.

by dave124fromDoes what it says.I purchased this to check on my bike tires. I have a presta valve and didn't have a presta gauge. I was getting a lot of pinch flats and everyone suggested I check the tire pressure on my bike. I was usually around 30 PSI without the gauge and now I can tell where I am at with the gauge. Now I make sure I don't leave the garage under 36 PSI for my rear tire.
CONS: Sometimes I have to do a second reading because it doesn't always get a good fit on the first try. I usually take 3 readings to make sure I have the correct reading.

by WillglidefromWorks greatNever had an issue with mine. Always a couple PSI more accurate than my floor pump.
I started using this digital guage when I switched over to using tubeless tires on my road bike. It is a lot easier and more accurate to check pressure before a ride using this guage rather than re-pumping the tires to make sure they are at an exact pressure. Also the guage does not cause any loss of pressure when applying or removing it, but don't be sloppy in your technique. Swiftly engage, and remove when a reading is acquired. Why bother carrying during a ride? If you are good to go at the beginning of a ride then just go. I consider this much more of a pre or post ride checker to stay on top of accurate pressure.

by REI-EsqfromNot Safe for PrestaFor years I would just use my pump gauge to determine pressure when I was pumping the tire. It worked fine, no problems.
Always thought that it would be nice to know the pressure before and after pumping so I picked up this gauge based on the positive reviews.
I tested it on 2 different bikes, both presta, both different manufacture of tubes.
You have to apply a good amount of pressure to this gauge to get a reading--too much pressure to the valve for my taste. If you don't, air leaks and you get an inaccurate reading and have to try again. Everytime you try, a bit of air leaks from the high pressure tubes especially when pumped to over 90 PSI.
It does not easily come off the presta--it sticks and you need to twist it a little--I don't like that.
If you need to release air pressure while it is on the valve, the release valve is located in a position, and requires a certain amount of force that it puts sideways pressure on the valve while it is engaged. I don't like that.
There are too many risks of damaging the presta valve while using this gauge to make it worth while, so I returned it.

by bikemywayfromCan't open battery coverI tried to open the battery cover using a coin. That failed, so I tried a big screw driver, That damaged the plastic, but the battery cover still won't open. Junk.

by jnathanjfromLight weight, accurate, back-lightedI had one of these, purchased from a local bike shop, which gave up after about three years.
While it worked, however, it gave stable repeatable measurements, took NVH on the bike and heat and cold while in the car's console.
It's light, compact, and doesn't waste air getting on and off the valve.
I'd have no problem buying another, especially from a place like REI, with their liberal return policy. And, I'll say, it failed nicely when it failed: it didn't drift or go mute, but gave numbers that werely clearly insane, so I knew not to trust it.
