Comments about Sorel Avalanche Trail Winter Boots - Men's:
Been looking for a reasonable price winter boot that fits my spatula shaped feet- narrow heel and wide at toes. Found this onsale at REI. There are foam grippers that keep the heel in place as you roll forward, which is brilliant for this kind of boot given the stiffness of the rubber bottom, and the grips also let me get a bigger size for a wider toebox and still walk comfortably. All in all I needed a whole size up for heavy socks and a 1/2 size up for the toe width.
So far only using to walk the dog and shovel snow, but they're warm in 7degree F weather, and thats with normal socks. Clearly Sorel understands what makes this kind of boot work, a quality design.

Comments about Sorel Avalanche Trail Winter Boots - Men's:
Saying these boots are rated down to -25F is dangerous! I work outside in bush AK sometimes for 4-5 hours without having a source of warmth. I wore these boots one trip and will never wear them outside of Anchorage again. It was only 5F and my feet were ice blocks within 30 minutes. Thank goodness I had a place to warm my feet or else... If you want to wear these on a hike around town or to and from work they would be great, but if you are outside standing for long periods of time do not risk it!

Comments about Sorel Avalanche Trail Winter Boots - Men's:
I find that I have to lace and re-lace it perfectly or it feels bunched up half way up my shin. Traction on frozen snow and ice is non-existant. Otherwise, great boot, I love it. I am very weary on hard pack frozen surfaces because I have had many half slip and falls. Very warm and waterproof.

These boots are great. I was able to wear them right out of the box; they didn't need a break-in period.

Comments about Sorel Avalanche Trail Winter Boots - Men's:
I played boot hockey in these in Duluth at 0 degrees and only fell once. They're warm and comfortable. I was able to drive my sub-compact rental car while wearing the Sorels. My last Sorel boots were purchased in the 1970s and came with the felt liner. They are still in good condition except the liner is a bit worn. The Sorel Avalanche Trail boot were a great replacement and quite an upgrade in both traction and weight.

Comments about Sorel Avalanche Trail Winter Boots - Men's:
I got these boots to handle walks in the snow and for use with shoe shoes. At first I had a hot spot on one heel but either that boot loosened up or my heel toughened up. Either way they are very comfortable, warm, and 100% water proof. My only negative comment is that traction on hard packed snow and ice isn't terrific, but nothing short of crampons does well on ice anyway.

Bought these just before the nasty 2012 January snow storm in Seattle. Used them extensively in walking around in the snow. No way would I ever try driving with them tho. I also took them to Alaska a few weeks later, where it was bitterly cold (below zero). Very effective in getting around. Definitely would recommend, tho you should know how you will use them.

Comments about Sorel Avalanche Trail Winter Boots - Men's:
I ordered these boots along with two types from a well-known outdoor store in the Northeast. The others were okay, but when I tried these on, I couldn't believe how comfortable they were with no break-in needed at all. My shoe size is either 10 1/2 or 11 wide (depending on the last), and these boots in size 11 fit just fine. I have used these now for walking a few miles at a time in snow, slush, puddles, etc. They keep me warm and give great support.

I bought these on sale and have worn them daily through a pretty snowy and icy winter. They were comfortable from day two and I have never felt the cold.
