The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Uco Micro Candle Lantern:
I always thought these things were something of a joke, but on my most recent trip, I thought I'd give one a shot. I figured it would make dinner after nightfall more fun, since eating by headlamp sucks, but it somehow managed to prove more useful than that.
It surprised me how much light it produces, and how low its weight is overall. It packs up nice and compact, and the auxiliary storage is a fantastic feature. With it, I was able to pack up my site at 0400 without using my headlamp at all, and could read comfortably at night. It has a little reflector dish on the top that amplifies light downward; so for optimal illumination, hang it from a tree branch, awning, or tent.
My only gripe is the fact that the topmost section doesn't lock in any way, and if you're a little rough with it, it'll slide right back down into the base. Really just an annoyance, but no dealbreaker in any way.

Comments about Uco Micro Candle Lantern:
I burn tea light candles all the time. This is the only device where I have seen the tea light wick bend over until both ends touch the liquified parafin, and the resulting wick arc allows the flame to become huge. It literally engulfs this little lantern in flames. Nobody should ever buy this -- there is something about the design of tea light candles that makes them unsafe to burn in a contained lantern. Tea lights should be burned in open holders. If you want a candle lantern, get the standard spring loaded one that uses UCO candles.

Comments about Uco Micro Candle Lantern:
I love this little lantern. Very light weight and compact. I dont usualy light a fire so just having the ambient light is very nice. Helps me save on headlamp battries in the tent as well. Being able to store an extra candle inside the base is a great feature. On average my tea light candles burn anywhere from 5-7 hours. Thats based off the candles i use but Im sure depending on what brand of candle you use, there will be different burn times. The glass insert is very well protected when collapsed. Ive trekked aboot 800 miles with mine and never had any problem with durability, or any problems for that matter. Very well made. The light output is enough for me, cant really expect too much from a tea light candle. If your looking for ALOT of light you might want to check something else out. Spilled wax on the glass insert is very easy to remove with just heating it with a lighter. All in all this lantern is a great product for anyone looking for a little extra glow around camp.

Comments about Uco Micro Candle Lantern:
This thing is OK. I appreciate the very compact and albeit aesthetically pleasing design of this small lantern. I also appreciate that it runs off of a flame rather than electricity. However, the bottom line is that it just does not have a high light output. I would recommend this for someone looking for a fun addition to a campsite, but not for use as your ONLY form of light. Also, I made the mistake of trying it for the first time indoors and the wax dripped from the bottom of the unit onto my bed. That was my fault - but be aware that it can happen!
