  • Polartec Power Dry utilizes 2 different yarns on either side of the fabric to enhance comfort: interior yarn wicks moisture, and exterior yarn dries quickly
  • Combination of the 2 yarns helps keep you dry during highly aerobic activities because it moves moisture away from skin and dries more quickly single-component fabrics
  • Flatseam construction is soft and non-chafing next to skin, and seams are designed to work with pack straps at shoulders
  • Underarm and side gussets promote freedom of motion
  • Next-to-skin fit hugs the body, maintaining skin contact to boost fabric performance

      My primary purpose for this was a base layer when running in cold weather. It did serve its purpose as a warm base layer but it did not dry quickly after a 6 mile run. Also it was functionally warm but I would not wear this without some thing over it as the fit was very boxy and the sleeves were too long and worn just by itself does not look good.

            I use the crew shirt under long-sleeve T-shirts. It's very warm and dries in less than 24-hours. I recommend hand-washing the crew shirt the first few times because of excess fabric dye.

                  This is basically an REI branded Polartec shirt. It is lightweight but its fairly thick and very warm - the inside feels like a microfleece material and the outside is more like polyester. It's just what I was looking for - I use it as a base layer (with a t-shirt under it) and my REI Taku shell on top. I commute to work everyday on a bicycle and this is perfect for the current weather (35-45º) It also dries very quickly I rarely ever dry it in the dryer I hang it up for a few hours and Im good to go.

                      Great base layer for winter mountain biking in New England. I've been using this for the past month (during an admittedly mild NE winter of 2011-2012) but using this as a base layer + a moto jersey I rarely need anything extra to keep me warm. If there's a stiff wind I'll wear a third layer windbreaker but on calm days down into the high 30s this has been more than enough to keep me warm. It's durable, flexible, and very comfy. Hopefully REI keeps this item for a long time to come; I plan on getting at least one or two more.
