The REI Member Dividend

The REI Sahara Convertible petite-size pants with No-Sit Zips feature an innovative design that makes converting from pants to shorts and back again easier than ever before!
- Side zippers run the full length of the lower legs; together with thigh zippers they allow quick conversions without having to sit down
- They also preclude the need to slip lower legs sections over messy boots when converting from pants to shorts along a muddy trail
- Color-coded thigh zippers help you easily tell the right leg from the left leg when converting back to pants
- Lightweight nylon faille fabric dries quickly, resists pilling and is easy to pack away in a backpack
- Fabric is treated with a Durable Water Repellent finish to repel moisture and stains
- With a UPF 50+ rating, fabric provides excellent protection against harmful ultraviolet rays
- Flat front waist flatters and smooths the figure; includes snap closure, belt loops and a removable webbing belt
- Mesh pockets bags enhance ventilation and allow water to drain
- Gusseted crotch facilitates freedom of movement for increased comfort
- Topstitching throughout flattens seams and reduces abrasion
- Front angle-entry pockets; right side has a hidden zip pocket inside

These pants are comfortable and have held up on day hikes as well as backpack trip. The belt is unnecessary but I suppose it's nice for those that might need it. I'm happy with this product and have purchased a second pair for multi-day trips.

I just got these and love them, but I agree with others that they are not petite. Luckily I'm just about 5'5", so they are alright with shoes on. The fit is good. I'm an 8/10 with a bit of fluctuation and the 10 fits me great when sitting them a bit below my natural waistline. Some don't like the fit, but I'm more athletic and not curvy, so I think they're great.

I love these pants. I'm 5'1 and a thick size 6...in other words, I've got a big butt, big hips, big thighs and big calves but a tiny waist and these pants are awesome too hike in.
I hate when my hiking pants get pushed down by my pack when I'm on the trail and I don't want to squat down and feel like I'm going to bust the thigh seams, I have neither issue with these pants. I like the velcro pockets and length is just right for me... I have the khaki and the shale but an olive color would be nice as well...

What are they thinking? Billowing around the ankles and calves, tight in the thighs. a lot of athletic women have thick thighs, but who has ankles like an elephant? I'm pretty sure that's a medical condition... I hate to have to buy men's pants, but I think that's what it's coming to. They may not be flattering, but at least they won't tourniquet my thighs...

I bought these for backpacking.They have some nice features- the fabric is attractive- lightweight and quick-drying. Nice pockets. The fit was generous in the waist and seat- I could have lived with that since I like a thermal layer in cold weather. The deal-breaker ended like it always does for those of us who are short: the length was not petite! I am 5' and need a 27-28" inseam. These were 30" and dragging on the ground! I should have read all of the reviews on these pants. Alot of people complained about the length.REI really needs to reassess what they call "Petite". Sadly, I have sent these back.

I just bought my second pair of these pants. I love the roomy fit, yes, they are loose, BUT on a recent trip to the Mohave desert I experienced both heavy now and high 90's heatr. In the former there was room for a pair of Patagonia fleece tights underneath, and in the latter, I appreciated the air movement the roomy fit provided. Just bought a 3rd pair for my husbands birthday present. And thanks REI for the petitie sizes!

Nice pants. Like the zip off bottoms. A little snug in the upper thigh, but I have heavier thigh; so they are OK for ladies with heavier legs.

I love the way these cute pants fit! Bought them for safari in Tanzania. Bought 2 pairs in khaki, but would also like them if the color "olive" was a choice. They make them in a charcoal but they may be too hot in the 92-94 degrees African sun. One great suggestion, too, would be to make them with Permethrin "bug-off" in the fibers. That would be of great advantage to me on safari and for anyone who camps, hikes, fishes, or mountain climbs. Because of this, I've bought Permethrin spray and will apply it to my " NON-bugs-off clothes" before we go. I'm not normally a petite, but the 10 petite does fit me especially wonderfully in the length. Because of the zippers down each leg to the bottom, there would be no way for me to hem them if I'd bought the regulars. Love the convertible zip-off legs above the knee for shorts. All in all, I'm excited to wear them on safari when I go very soon:-). I can write an update later!
