This product had potential. A padding that was removable and some nice pockets. Also, it has a nice look. The biggest problem is the waist size. It is very tight and does not go with the length or look. I so wanted to keep them but I can't ride around with my waist being squeezed, particularly for the price. These aren't cheap!

I really like this pair of shorts. What's particularly nice is that the liner is a separate garment. Therefore the shorts can be worn both on a bike (with the liner) or as casual clothing (without it).

Zoic black market shorts are very well made. Quality is apparent. Material is excellent for XC and trail riding because it is stretchy, breaths well, and durable. They have a great design in terms of well placed pockets and size. Also, the cut is very bike specific, so they don't feel like they are too bulky or get in the way. Length is good for me as I like longer bike shorts. Chamois is well made.

However, the main gripe is the velcro closure. It doesn't seem to hold together despite the clasp belt. Also, the velcro can become and irritation on the skin after long rides. Just a regular snap closure would of been better.

All in all, Zoic makes quality bike shorts and these are no different.

Great shorts. The padded insert can be removed from the shorts, so they can be worn under other shorts. The shorts themselves are technical enough to perform well, but look like casual shorts and can be worn when you're not biking without making you look foolish. You can store small items in the pockets, but the shorts are cut closely enough that they don't get baggy and get fabric bunched up in the crotch when riding.

I have read some of the reviews about the Zoic "Ether" line ($80 pair) and saw that people have a problem with chafing. When i saw the "Market" line, the reviews were good so I went ahead and bought them. I have to say "I love these shorts". Very comfortable. Just went on a long ride and the padding is great - no chafing. The material is light weight and has plenty of pockets. I have also worn the shorts without the padded liner and these have become my favorite all-around shorts. I am glad that I decided to buy this pair instead of the $80 pair because these are awesome and I saved [$]. The belt feature is also a plus compared to the side velcro things on the other pair. I tried them on in the store and the fit was not as good with the velcro as it is with the belt. I definitely recommend trying these out - you will love them.

I've worn these about a half dozen times and I'm really happy with them. I'm 6ft 2in and weigh 215lbs and the XL fits snug, but not too tight. I actually prefer these over a pair I purchased by Novara last year that have a gel insert, but I'm always having to hike them up because they are too big. These fit better and the liner and short stay together, so I'm not having to mess with them while I'm riding and I appreciate that. They wash well and dry quickly. Velcro is sturdy and the pockets seem well placed, although I really don't use them. Comfortable on longer rides and the legs stay put; the grippers aren't too tight either. Look good as well. Wish they came in a couple of additional colors.
