by fromNot great... I really wanted to like this jacket, but after wearing it for only a month or so, and never washing it, I realized that my arms were still wet. This jacket doesn't even qualify for water resistant. I never work it through hard rains, and always for causal, daytime wear. Very disappointed in this jacket and lack of functionality of a rain jacket.I also had issues with it sticking to my arms after wearing it for more than ten minutes.

by fromNot for serious gear shoppers I don't understand why this is "award winning." I was looking for an economical rain jacket, but after wearing this one for two years of dog walking, bike commuting, and field work I've come to dred the days I have to wear it. I'm 5'10" and it feels boxy--like a midriff jacket that I can fit another person inside of. My biggest complaint is it's not rainproof-ness. Even when it was brand-new, rain rolls down my outer sleeve and up inside to my forearm (not sure how/why). After getting it wet, if I need to go out again it feels really wet inside when I put it back on. Now that I've had it for 2 years (things should last, we don't need to fill up the landfill with disposable rainjackets!) the inner seal is visibly breaking down, especially at the back of the neck.

by fromShorter fit than others This is a nice jacket with good features, but I didn't like the way it fit as well as others when trying it on at the store. This one hits at the waist (not the hip) and is more boxy, not form fitting. I bought the PreCip jacket by Marmot instead (it's the same price).

by fromI guess I got a dud. I researched a lot before buying this. I lived in rainy, northern California and am a field biologist, so I needed good rain gear. It stands up okay to mists and light rain, but is cowardly when real storms come through. No one else seems to have problems with there's, so I guess its just not supposed to go through what I want to use it for. Its fine for walking from your car to the store etc.

by fromNot breathable This jacket is advertised as breathable waterproof jacket but it is not breathable. If you do any mederate activity (eg. hiking) in this jacket, you get soaking wet not from the rain but from your own sweat trapped inside the vinyl. If it was highly breathable it would have been perfect. I'm shopping for a goretex jacket now.

by fromNoisy jacket This jacket is very stylish and, I assume, would also be good in the rain. It feels very comfortable with enough room in it for layering. It is also lightweight, which is important to me. However, as much as I like the looks and fit, I am returning it because it is super "noisy". Every move I make is heard all over! Can't have that when I'm trying to watch wild animals in Africa! If that is something which doesn't bother you, go ahead and get it... very nice looking!

by fromLove This Jacket I got this coat to wear casually. I live in the rainy Northwest, so I wanted something that was light-weight and waterproof. This coat fits nice with room to wear a sweatshirt underneath. The hood is big, and has a visor and can adjust. If I were to change one thing about this coat, I would make it a couple inches longer, but otherwise, it has served me wonderfully and is now my favorite jacket that I wear every day.

by fromA great stand-alone shell I love this jacket! Form, function, and style all get an A+. My only disappointment is that it does NOT work with the North Face Zip-In system. I have two other North Face fleece jackets (that are both "zip-in compatible") that I was planning on zipping into the shell to wear together during colder weather. The zipper pull on this shell, however, is on the wrong side and won't allow the liners to be attached. I can still wear a fleece jacket underneath the shell - I just have to wear them as two separate jackets instead of one.
