The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
Rated4out of5byGoat MulefromREI Half Dome 2 HC Footprint, too!I thought I'd give my take on this product from a bit of a different perspective. See, I don't have a Passage 2 tent, I have a Half Dome 2 HC from 2009. Back then, I had a big ol' roll of Tyvek, and would cut ground cloths to fit my tents rather than spend the dough on footprints. It really did work great. Recently, though, I discovered the joys of fly/footprint pitch options, and was lamenting the fact that footprints for my old tent were, of course, no longer available (I'm not into tracking down used items online...). Upon a lazy perusal of available tents one day, I realized the Passage 2 sure seems a lot like the old Half Dome 2 models. Reading further, the floor dimensions were the exact same! What the heck, I'll give it a try, I thought. Well, the two work beautifully together. Anyone who might want to try this combo, take note that the color-coded tabs will be backwards... really no big deal.
The footprint itself is simple, light, compact, and durable - exactly what you want in a footprint. I only have two very minor gripes - 1. The included mesh stuff sack is enormous, too large to use if you are like me and prefer to smash all of your gear into the tiniest space possible. This would really only be an issue if you wanted to take the instructions along, I suppose (they are printed on the sack). 2. The "coated side" is supposed to go up, but I cannot for the life of me tell the difference between the two sides. If only the instructions said "tag side up", I would have been spared the three seconds or so of confusion upon first taking this out (I wrote "UP" on the tag to spare me any future memory lapses - of course, the color-coded tabs basically make this a moot point... Like I said, these are VERY minor gripes).
At any rate, thank you, Passage, for (inadvertently) breathing new life into an old friend!

Rated4out of5byFun HunterfromSimple and strongI personally get footprints for all my tents. But this being my first REI tent, I was curious about fit and finish, compared to my other tents. We'll rest assured that REI has done their homework. From the color coded corner tads, for quick and easy installs, to the perfect shape, for protection for the tent and to avoid water pooling during rain. It goes together perfectly like Freedom and America!

Rated5out of5byoccupy billfromGreat thing to own, multiple usesI use it all of the time and i use it when just carrying the fly and poles for a lighter set up. It also works perfectly as a groundcloth under my Doumid ultralight tent and under my Bearpaw fly. And under my bug tent. So I use this foot print every time I go camping with every tent structure that I own.

Rated5out of5byScoutsFamilySolofromPerfect fitI took a couple backpacking trips since buying the footprint this summer. On one, I used it under the tent, and it worked great to keep out moisture and dirt. On the other, I followed the minimalist instructions using just the footprint, poles and fly. It rained that night but I was dry and comfortable. It's the perfect size for the tent and packs up super light.

Rated5out of5bythemessfromPassed it's first test perfectlyI bought this to use on a recent hiking camping trip to Mt Whitney. As they say timing is everything. I've had my Passage 2 tent(which is an excellent tent) for about a year and just happened to see this at REI before I left for Mt Whitney. Good thing because the first night I was there a monster thunderstorm came in about 11:00pm and lasted until 4:00am. When I got up in the morning everyone in our camp had water in there tents not a drop in mine. It was a rough storm several campsites were washed out or covered under 1-2 ft of sand and dirt. Can't ask for a better test than that, it performed great and I stayed dry.

Rated4out of5byActive BSA DadfromAlmost perfectGreat purchase to go along with my REI Passage 2 tent. I like that I can pick up and either move or shake out my tent when not staked down...if you try to move the tent with this footprint though, it will fall off immediately. I wish it was sized a little different so that the tension would match that of the tent. The tension is a slight mismatch with mine regardless of whether you use the inner or outer grommets on the tent. If I could pick up the tent without the footprint falling off...it would be a 5-star product for me.
