Comments about Marmot Oracle Rain Jacket - Men's:
Great jacket! I got it prior to hurricane Sandy, and relied on it to keep me dry and warm from the insane winds. I used it to help clean out neighbors' houses and protect my apartment. When paired with a down jacket / fleece underneath I can stay very warm, I would not recommend wearing this jacket by it self in the winter. It's only an outer shell.
I wear this as a rain jacket when commuting into NYC, walking to and from subways to my studio, and home. I never have to bring an umbrella because I stay very dry.
Great for outdoor adventures, very soft and flexible! When paired with another jacket, there is zero constriction, feels like you're wearing one jacket.
Also very durable, I was in a road biking accident this spring, a car hit me and I skidded across the pavement onto my lower back and arm, there was no sign of road rash on me or the jacket, no tearing or any noticeable wear at all.
I call this jacket a side kick, cause it is so reliable and never seems to let me down. I will hold onto this jacket for a long time.

I bought it after trying on about a dozen different light rain jackets @ REI and found this one fit and looked the best. I am quite pleased with this purchase after several weeks of use.

I use this mostly on mountain bike trips, also for hiking. Very compact to stow on your bike or backpack.

I like this jacket for a lot of reasons. The fit is good, zippers are great and I think it's pretty stylish overall. I'm a tall guy (6'3") and the length is good. I would point out that the red jacket is really bright on the bottom half. Also, the velcro in the pockets is a little annoying. Otherwise great!

This jacket is great. Pricey, but you get all the bells and whistles you could possibly want in a wind breaker and won't need another one for years. Soft and relatively comfy compared to most other windbreakers I tried that felt like I was wearing a crispy tent flap.

Comments about Marmot Oracle Rain Jacket - Men's:
This jacket is incredible! I use it on my daily (14 mi rt) bike commute when it's raining, and I also take it on my month-long research trips to tropical Africa. This jacket performs well in both environments. And today I discovered how durable it is. I took a spill on my bike and flew over the handle bars and skidded on wet pavement, mostly on my right elbow. There was some impact to my left elbow and to my left shoulder. While the jacket now is dirty...it did not tear! My weak rain pants tore immediately, and I had to toss them. The jacket, however, barely shows any signs of wear. Only in one small place is the fabric damaged, and only just slightly. I would buy this jacket again in an instant.

I'm in a 6 person Zodiac off of the Oregon coast looking for whales. A storm's blowing in and we have high wind, high surge, rain and lots of spray. I'm working hard to keep my camera dry (thanks Thinktank!) and keep the spray off of the lens. But my head is soaked and water is literally ponded inside the elbows of my jacket.
It's the peel and stick fasteners. I don't know if they were trying to make silent velcro (thereby eliminating the gauche, embarrasing and, face it, unfashionable sound real velcro makes), but it's special velcro with about half as many hooks. And they put very narrow strips of it on the cuffs. So the sleeves flap open. Since I was holding up my camera I had my elbows bent, thus collecting rain and seawater. Lots.
The removable hood is anchored at the collar with a well-designed tab and pocket fastening with 2 faces of velcro. Alas, more of the silent velcro. Wind of more than about 20 mph blows these apart, hood loosens and flops back. I finally grabbed the elastic drawcords and tied them under my neck. Helped some.
I hated to take it back: it's almost perfect: fit, features, weight and build quality. I even considered having the velcro replaced, but I'd void the warranty.
It's depressing. All of the features I wanted. Almost everything else out there is fatally flawed as the manufacturers chase the fashion trends: exposed zippers (flaps, even on a "waterproof" zipper are very, very nice to have when the zipper fails in the field. And zippers do fail), attached non-stowable hoods, no 2-way main zipper, no pit zips, short length, ridiculously shallow pockets, etc. Marmot came really, really close on this one.
I'm going to continue to use my old reliable heavy rain jacket. Maybe Marmot will fix the velcro someday.

I bought this jacket when I planned a trip to Iceland and a move to Seattle, both rainy places. It kept me dry through all my hikes in Iceland including a walk under a waterfall. The chest pocket was great for stashing a granola bar and camera to keep them dry and for easy access. I've also worn it in downpours in the Southern US and found it worked well to keep the rain out, but in the humid 90F weather, it did get a bit sticky inside.
I haven't had problems with the zipper catching like other users, but do agree the hood tabs are a bit odd to get used to and put on. I just leave the hood out, myself.

Bought this at the Used gear sale. Had been worn once and didn't fit so was returned. Took this on a 4 day backpacking trip and loved it! The whole coat can easily roll into hood for easy storage and takes up almost no room/weight in the pack. Dumped rain 1 of the days on the trip and the coat kept me PERFECTLY dry!
Pros: Light weight, Great rain protection, easily stores in the hood, fits great
Cons: The velcro on the sleeves/hood could be a little wider so they have more to grab to.
Overall a GREAT jacket though!

Comments about Marmot Oracle Rain Jacket - Men's:
I'm a experienced kayak tripper and wanted a fully waterproof rain jacket that could hold up to the spring rains in the North Maine Woods. This jacket does that exactly. Light weight, packable, and blocks the wind nicely. I bought a size larger than I normally wear just so I will have room for a fleece underneath. It's perfect and highly recomend this to anyone. Hold out if you can for when its on sale. I bought mine at $60.00 off the regular price. One of the best buys ever.
