Rated4out of5bymtrunnrfromGreat BookbagAs a school counselor I needed something to carry books and stuff to school. I didn't want to use one of my technical backpacks and Quantum Daypack does a great job as a large book bag. It has a large capacity, place for a water bottle, and lots of zippered pockets. I'm sure it will be my school companion for years to come. I would not want to take it on an extended hike though.

Rated5out of5bygranolaCruncherfromSchrodinger would approve!!This "quantum" backpack would be Schrodinger approved (if he had had the inkling to use one...i don't know) -- You don't know how much you can fit in it until you open it!
I use this backpack for carrying my laptop and textbooks back and forth from work/school and home. The padding on the shoulder straps is great, though with how much I fit in it, it still weighs a ton and my shoulders hurt if I don't use the extra straps. But that's probably why they added the hip and breast straps so you can lighten the shoulder load.
I wouldn't carry this backpacking in the wilderness, as I already have a backpacking pack that can carry a lot more than this pack, but this one is great for standard work/school purposes.

Rated4out of5bySailor StevefromGreat Travel BagThis bag is great for the business traveller. It holds all my bits and pieces with less threat of damage. It will hold a laptop, notes, travel snacks and other staples without issues. Highly recommend it for the business person always on the go.

Rated5out of5bymountaingoathikerfromtorso length greatIt is designed for electronic gear and these days it would still be easy to get my 15 inch laptop here but i normally now carry my 10 in. tablet---more than enough room. Add snacks, water, and two days of clothea for summer travel and my daughter still has room for her to stash her shopping finds.... When her own pack can't handle that xtra piece she "really had to have".... All around day-pack/commuter type bags i have (now 3 from rei) this is the most efficient with pockets, compartments and length. (I always need as generous of 21 inch i can find). Very breathable and much padding comfortable.

Rated4out of5bygregglesfromWas great, multicolor makes it worseI have the first generation of this bag and love it. After using timbuktu backpack and Patagonia's Critical Mass shoulder bag this was a breath of fresh air: the single-tone brown makes it feel professional enough to take to work meetings, but it still has all the pockets/compartments I like to keep me organized. I came to recommend this to a friend and was disappointed to see it's now a two-tone bag with a "gear loop" on the bottom of the outside. In my opinion, that all makes it look a lot less professional without adding any value.
