Rated5out of5bystvrjonesfromGreat shoeUsed these on the Camino in Spain. Handled the loose rocks and step gullies. Stayed dry in wet weather. Felt comfortable even on warm days.

Rated4out of5byjwkfromMeets my needs.I'm using this shoe as my "walking around shoe", both in the city for daily use as well as out and about on hikes. It does excellent in the city, providing great traction in every situation I've encountered. Traction is somewhat less spectacular on the trail, though, it doesn't deal well with hard-pack or rocks.

Rated5out of5bysteamboyfromHappy FeetI have used these as hiking shoes on rock, dirt, gravel and pavement. They are very comfortable, without being "squishy". I also like them as trail-bike shoes. They clean up nice for dressy casual wear as well.

Rated2out of5byDandovalfromStarted squakingThe shoes felt great, but I unfortunately had to return them due to the incredibly loud squeaking that started with them. The shoe fit comfortably, but hiking with them was driving me nuts. Dont know if it was a problem with just my shoes, or if it is a problem with the line of shoes, and unfortunately a new pair was out of stock.

Rated4out of5byHugh BirderfromGreat productPrevious hiking shoes no longer were water proof and needed ones that I can walk in wet grass and puddles without getting feet wet. These new ones do the job very well. Hope they will continue for a long time.

Rated4out of5byGlennOfromSolid Shoe But A Bit HotAfter an extensive search for new low-hikers I ordered these on a whim when I saw them discounted on REI. I was pleasantly surprised. In the past when trying on pretty much everything that REI had to offer the Merrell's were the most comfortable, but in my opinion hideous. In addition, my previous low-hikers were Merrell Moab Gore Tex, that wore out way too fast.
When the Elkridge arrived they looked great and felt good out of the box. I wore them around the house for the whole day doing projects etc. It got up to about 80-85 that day and my feet were very, very hot. And sweaty. While I loved the shoe and would where them for cooler weather I decided to get something lighter and non-waterproof. I went with the other Ahnu shoe the Morago Mesh and love them. They are just as every bit as comfortable but they breath.
