The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
Rated5out of5byLTfromGreat BootAs someone with wide feet, I have a very hard time finding a boot that wont squish my toes. This boot is nice and wide in the toe box but laces up snugly so the rest of my foot still feels secure and comfortable. The laces have a feature that allows you to tighten the foot and ankle laces separately, which I find to be very helpful.

Rated5out of5byNathan MfromBest hiking shoe by far!I recently bought this hiking boot for my wife after I got a pair for myself. This boot is great in wet, cold, or dry weather. Does not require a break-in period...simply strap on a go!
I will never buy another brand again.

Rated5out of5bylivermousefromWarm and Excellent TractionI've had this shoe for 1.5 years, including two winters. I've taken it on 4 week-long backpacking trips, many snowshoeing trips , and a few shorter hiking trips. I also wear this shoe around town in the winter when there are particularly wet and/or slippery conditions.
My favorite thing about this boot: amazing traction! Even on wet, slippery rocks, the boot grips very well. I don't know how they do it, but it has definitely increased my confidence while hiking.
I've also found that the boot is very warm in winter conditions, and the stiff sole makes it great for snowshoeing.
I originally bought this boot because I only had a few weeks before a long trip and wanted something that was easy to break in. I went on a few short hikes and then my backpacking trip in the mountains, and it was great!

Rated5out of5bySara RfromVersatile, comfortable bootIt had been awhile since I had shopped for a hiking boot, and I was dreading breaking in another pair. I can be a bit of a tough fit for women's shoes, with my wide, square feet and high arches, but these fit like they were made for me. I may add a pair of green Superfeet insoles, but I haven't yet.
I have been wearing these around the house and town to break them in, and it hasn't taken long - more to get me used to wearing a more structured boot than anything else. The footbed is comfy and supportive, and the lacing system allows for just the right balance of snug/loose where you need it (i.e. good ankle support without cutting off blood supply).
Walking in wet terrain didn't result in damp toes; my feet were warm and dry. This is important when you live in the soggy Pacific Northwest! Slick mud trails were easily navigated with adequate traction.
I am confident that these Salomons will service me well for years to come, filling a versatile role in my footwear needs.

Rated2out of5byEnjoy the JourneyfromNot waterproof at allI bought these boots a month before going to Tasmania overland trek because my old boots wore out. Unfortunately there was only a limited section at the time of purchase. This boot had good reviews and felt good in the store. They were very comfortable breaking in the; however, I was very disappointed on the trail. The overland trail has a lot of tree roots and my feet were tingling at the end of the day. So much so that it was difficult to sleep despite backpacking all day long. Additionally, it rained heavily one day. After three hours of backpacking, I was able to ring out my socks. However, my husband's socks were completely dry. Given this, I definitely believe it was the boot performance and not the conditions. It was especially fun to put your feet in wet boots the next day at 2 degree C weather and walk the day with wet cold feet. I have had several pairs of boots that I have worn out in the past and traveled many miles, so I know what to expect, and this is not it. Fortunately for REI satisfaction guarantee, these boots are going back.

Rated5out of5byJHBfromAwesome ShoesI went on a 3 month hiking trip and wore these practically everyday. They quickly became my new best friend. They have great ankle support and traction. I have really high arches so I used super feet inserts which fit great. The boots are more comfortable than sneakers and very secure. The only problem I had were that two of the hooks for the laces popped off but of course REI exchanged them for me, no big deal. Seriously awesome boots. I am sad I cant wear them everyday to work. I would say they are for long hikes, a little heavy duty for just easy trail hikes.

Rated5out of5bymbneryfromthe perfect hiking bootI have searched and searched for the perfect boot that doesn't rip up my heels when I hike, and these fit the bill. So far I've used them on short and long day hikes with some weight and they are incredibly comfortable. They have great support throughout, but offer some flexibility in the toe, which I like. They are warm but breathable, and waterproof, too. Although after a few uses, I waterproofed the exterior just in case since I live in Oregon (and wet means something different up here). There is very little to no break in time in these. I'm planning on using them heavily for multiday backpacking trips when spring comes. I definitely recommend these boots.
