I have broken 2 of these now and have very little hope for the very last one that I will ever own. Do not waste your money on this. I really do not understand why they have not figured this obvious flaw out yet. A simple material change would solve the problem and I would gladly pay more for this cool utensil if that is what it takes for a change.

So my experience with this particular item - if you buy the transparent version it will break in a very short time. If you can find and buy the translucent or solid version it will last. They apparently are using quite different plastics on different versions of this, and they act quite differently when on the road. Fast food cutlery is more stout than the transparent version of this item, sadly.

These are nice, cheap, and break very quickly.

Over the course of three months me and my traveling partner broke 3 different pairs of these guys. After the third pair broke, we opted to using silverwear from Wendy's instead.

These are good for mixing, and soup and easy stuff, but really bad for spreading peanut butter and other things on a Sandwhich. Definitely not ready for trail adventure.

And nothing more. Had to bend it ever so slightly to fit in my pot. Next time I went to use it, in trying to straighten it out, it snapped in half. At least now I have a spoon and fork with VERY short handles.Bought 4 of them when on sale, down to 3 and counting.

its okay while it last (which isnt very long maybe 10 dinners). Without too much abuse the edges will begin to show stress fracture. Soon after it will break. if you in th market for cheap utensils just get rei brand's cheap spoon/fork

I've used these utensils for both camping and daily use and they've faired well (except for being lost). They're really handy to keep in a lunch bag. The spoon is a decent size, so you can actually eat soups with it (unlike some the sporks).

The knife isn't very convenient, but with the combination of it and teeth, it all works out.

Stay away form this item! I bought four or five and every single one broke in the middle. I paid [$]each that is about 12 or 15 dollars. I could have bought one titanium spork for 8 dollars. Do the math.I was crazy for buying more than the first one.

If you are left-handed, the knife edge points up in the air and cannot be used to cut things.

I bought this because it seemed an all-in-one tool that is lightweight and compact. Sure, all that's true, but I don't feel it makes eating easy. Neither the fork or spoon is effective. You're better off packing a restaurant disposable fork and spoon. It weighs probably less than this tool and works like how you would normally use a fork and spoon.

Comments about Light My Fire Spork - '10 Overstock:

Bought this for my Yosemite camping trip last weekend. Bought 2 on purpose as I can forsee the difficulty of using a knife without a fork. It's made out of plastic so you may not want to stab it in food that is very very hot. It's 3-in-1 design is convenent but not effective. Like I mentioned before, I couldn't use the knife side to cut without using another spork to stabilize my food. Since I have to bring 2 sporks, I might as well bring a spork and a knife. Also, after I finished my soup I had to grab the spoon part of the spork to eat. So I contaminated my spoon with my dirty hand. If you're looking for a simple cheap spork for camping trip this would be the one. But I think I'm going to get a separate set of titanium spork + knife instead.
