Rated4out of5byChicagoSandyfromGood basic boot, but try them onI used to X-C ski daily in winter till about 25 years ago--breaking trail on traditional wooden waxed skis with 3-pin leather boots in the Cascades (near Rainier even as late as June); then city park and snowy-sidewalk skiing on waxless skis (and also some skate-skiing on golf course tracks with my old skis retrofitted) in & around Chicago. Then poor snow conditions &/or frigid weather, injuries, and eventually obesity & arthritis forced me off the trails for awhile. Got my knees replaced and lost 50 lbs. just in time for us to get slammed with snow again, so I hauled out my old gear. To my chagrin, my feet expanded so much (not to mention a nasty bunion) that my size 38 Alpinas (never mind the Contact skate boots) now fit only over bare feet. I wear a 39 street shoe, so I went online to REI.com intending to buy some 39 or 40 Rossignols. This Fischer model was not listed in anything below a 43.
Good thing I decided to go to REI in person. Tried on the 39 Rossignols with socks, and had no room to wiggle my toes. The 40s fit, but these Fischers were on sale for half the price. Unfortunately, I had to go up to a 41, in a men's boot no less (which size was not listed on the site in this model). But in these I could easily wiggle my toes without heel slippage. Going out to my backyard to practice tomorrow (at 62, I'm not taking any chances) before hitting the parks. My one regret is that they're synthetic uppers (nobody's mass-producing leather X-C boots anymore), so there's little-to-no-chance I can get these to stretch enough to "bump out" for my bunion. Will update the review after a few sessions on the trails.

Rated4out of5byrrwestyfromGreat valueBought these right before the big storm hit the Midwest. I normally wear size 46's but based on previous reviews I ordered 47s. They were still a bit tight and narrow but after taking them out twice they fit perfect now. But I would certainly order 1 size larger than you normally wear.
I had no issues with binding in the toes as one reviewer mentioned. And no issues with the zipper coming down. I used them on fresh snow on ungroomed trails and icy trails ungroomed and they provided great support.
So, at this point I would say exceptional value for the money. Time will tell how long they last though.

Rated5out of5byskijorfromVery durable!I skijor with two Siberian Huskies and these are the only cross country ski boots I have found to hold up to the beating of skijoring! I have had other boots die within 25-40 skijor outings; but my first pair of these Fischer boots lasted for over 200 outings (and over 1700 miles of skiing).
These boots are great in up to a foot of powder (assuming you are using the right skis); so they are good for much more than just "groomed trails".
I will stick with these boots as my choice for skijoring.

Rated3out of5byCyclonefromNarrow bootThis boot was too narrow for my feet, especially in the toe. My feet are slightly wide, but not so wide that I ever buy wider-than-normal shoes. I returned these and bought a pair of Rossignol X1 boots, which were also just a bit snug but much better fit than these Fischer boots.

Rated3out of5byRhaydonfromNice but narrow and low-volume bootA nice looking boot for in-track classic skiing; however, I have an old pair of similar Fischer boots I need to replace, and while those are a bit sloppy in size 44, with these I could just barely squeeze my feet into a size 44. Super tight, they are probably narrower than a "D" width. Quite narrow and also low-volume, so if you have a wide foot or a high arch look elsewhere. IF you have narrow and somewhat flat feet they will probably be great.

Rated5out of5byMike and dadfromGreat boots for kids and adultsBoth my daughters and wife have these boots. They are easy to put on and comfortable. The zipper cover over the laces helps keep the snow out of the boots. I recommend for beginners to advanced x-country skiers.

Rated4out of5bySalsalitofromGood overall bootComfortable boot for daily x-country skiing. I like the zip up option over the laces to keep them dry and out of your way. I ski in temps as low as 0 and my feet stay warm.
Sizing table is not correct for this boot! I wear a size 8.5-9 boot and had to return the 40's for a 41 (9.5-10 according to the chart). I could not even get my foot into the 40!

Rated3out of5byPat LapekasfromWorks well for wide feetThese boots have kept my feet warm during very cold conditions. Don't have alot of support in the arch area. Hard to get in and out of --Would have been helpful if they would add a loop in the back to help pull these boots on. Average boot
