I bought this boot to use at work. It was stylish and I needed something warm and waterproof for those (few) miserable days we sometimes get in Texas during December and January. They worked perfect in the cold wet rain we recently got. I couldn't have been more pleased with the performance of the boot. It is lightweight enough to use while mountain biking and comfortable enough to use for a couple of hours of foot patrol in the cold wet rain. The unique shoe string system makes getting the boot on and off a cinch and I don't have to worry about the laces coming untied. Great boot, couldn't be happier. I highly recommend them.

i intitially wore timberlands and Nike Acg Boots and for some reason my feet hurt after long hours on the job ( FedeEx Home Delivery) I would.spend additional money on gel inserts, thick socks. A friend is a member of REI and I admired his shoes, boots and sandals. I went to REI College Park and fell in love with the look of the Deemax 2 dry. Then I slipped my foot into an 8.5 and my entire foot melted away in comfort.

Son started college in Rexburg, Idaho and needed snow shoes.
We chose these off of REI's website because we wanted something completely dry, less boot and more
three quarter top tennis shoe, light and easy to access.
This fits the bill in all counts and it is considerably less costly than good performing snow boots.
That coupled with great holiday discounts and free shipping to my door from REI made it a must buy.

I bought these for winter cycling around town - I don't like to be clipped in when riding on snow and ice. They work great - warm, dry, and good grip on my platform pedals. They're super comfy and lightweight. Good traction in the snow. I got them in early December and have worn them outside ever since.

These boots were a big disappointment. Entry into these boots is a miserable experience and I have narrow feet and skinny ankles. To put them on, I have to sit in a chair and use a shoe horn. Not good. The lace pockets on the tongues used to store the laces are not durable; the perimeter stitching of the pockets fell apart after several uses. Buyer beware.

I like the look of these boots. They look like they are made very well. They feel very light in weight. But.... The boots are cut and shaped extremely narrow. I wear D wide shoes, and these are very tight. They fit with out socks but as winter boots that is not going to work. I will be returning these. I own other Solomon products and they fit me very well. These are a big miss.

They don't really fit right without thick wool hiking socks but with them they are really warm and comfortable. I bought them for biking in the winter (I don't like to be clipped in on slippery terrain). They are also nice around town but a little warm for all day wear (of course).

I have owned these shoes for a little over a year. They were used extensively in Northern Minnesota and Canada. I've hiked and snowshoed as well as used them when shoveling the enormous amount of snow we had in Minnesota last year.

They are extremely lightweight, excellent traction and they keep my feet warm. However, they did not last very long. The sides on both boots have split open at the seems and if it is at all wet or slushy outside my feet now get completely soaked. I am more disappointed they didn't last as long as I would have hoped. I am not sure if Salomon will cover the warranty as they really should have lasted much longer.
