    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Thule Sidearm Universal Upright Bike Mount is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would recommend this product Product performs just as I expected. Very easy to load and unload. Instructions were very poorly written, but it wasn't rocket surgery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well I use this rack to carry my 29er and road bike. It is easy to put together if you can read instructions, easy to use, and holds my bike securely. I added another Thule strap (purchased as a spare part) for the front wheel to increase my confidence at highway speeds, especially with cross winds. That being said, even without it the bike is safe and secure. More of a confidence thing after reading some reviews. It also spent a long, snowy, salty Cleveland winter on the top of my wagon with zero corrosion. In short, a fantastic rack worth the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Bike Carrier I bought this when I went to a through front axil instead of a quick release so I wouldn't have to take the front wheel off during transport and it would be lockable. None of these racks are completely secure; if someone really wanted the bike a pair of bolt cutters would do the trick, but this one looks more secure than my Yakima Forklift was. I've had the rack for about 6 months and it has performed really well; it's easy to use has a good grip on the bike. However, I did add a front tire strap for added stability and I feel like it made the bike even more stable especially on the highway. Make sure you're going to be tall enough to use this rack on your car or SUV; leaving the front wheel on makes for a longer reach. I'm 5'10 and if I was 2" shorter I wouldn't be able to use this on my Audi Q5.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works! This product is fantastic. I have had no issues with it after installation. The installation process itself was a tad trickier than advertised. I put it together by myself, I recommend having someone assist with the mounting, it will aide in protecting your car from scratches and the likes. My use is for my Mountain Bike and I am very satisfied with its performance, the Prius IV has a Solar Panel Roof and a Sunroof, these two items continue to work effectively and are not disturbed by the rack and components. Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike rack This is an easy to install and easy to use rack. I added front wheel straps because one of our bikes has fenders and the arm rests on the down side of the tire. With the straps added the rack is perfect. We also added a Thule lock kit for an extra measure of security. I highly recommend Thule products. I've been using them since the early 80's.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice gear, bad directions The directions for this rack are terrible. Even after I got it together I had to take it apart again to move the back strap in front of the rear mount. Works great once you figure it out and get it installed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Bike Mount, Complicated Install I got the Sidearm to mount on my Whispbar roof rack. It did not go well. Initial installation took nearly an hour to get things dialed in, choose the correct bolt length (three options), and snug everything down. The wingnuts used to secure are simple to use, but fiddly to get started. The Sidearm falls to one side until it's tightened down, which slows the process. Bolts are prone to getting stuck out of position, requiring full removal and dis-assembly of the mount. Bolts are prone to scratching car roof and bars if not precisely lined up. This rack is truly universal, but if removal is part of your plans you can forget it. Once mounted the rack is very easy to use and holds a 30+ pound mountain bike securely on the roof. I didn't notice any issues with instability at highway speeds. Keeping front wheel mounted is a nice perk, and makes getting started on your ride very easy. I bought this mount for occasional use, it is not acceptable for this application. It takes far too long and is far too finicky to install and remove every time it is used. For that application the Yakima Raptor Aero (or Thule equivalent) is a better choice. This would be spectacular for a car which has bike racks mounted 24/7/365, but it falls short otherwise. It would be perfect on a race support wagon, or on an SUV used primarily to get from one trailhead to another, but for my daily commuter it does not work. I will be returning this product, I hope that someone else can use it better than I.
