REI Members get back an estimated $ 3.00 on this item as part of their annual member refund.

    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Serfas FP-55 Floor Pump is rated 2.7692 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy this pump! Got this pump and used it only 3 times (100psi) and the hose going to the gauge broke and the pump is useless. I tried to fix it but you can't even fix it. I am taking this back, REI should not sell pumps with poor quality like this one!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Valve Friendly Looks and feels like a decent pump but I've had repeated problems of the pressure valve ripping off my tube stems. At low pressure the pumps works fine, 80 lbs or less. The problem is when you use pressure between 90-120 the flip valve doesn't release and it ends up ripping off the stem to the tube. Going to try out a Lezny pump to see if it does a better job.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Pump The air gauge was off by 20 lbs.and blew the tire off the rim putting 15 lbs of air in tire. The spare "basket ball" type needle kept falling out of the handle. Returned and exchanged for a different pump.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value This works well for a cheap pump. It's really quick and easy to fill tires compared with a mini-pump. I personally pump my tires to 70-80 psi with no problem or leaks. I believed the bad reviews but bought it anyway since I live close to REI; I'm glad I didn't follow those reviews. It comes with a needle and a fitting for beach balls, which aren't listed in the specs. The only downside I found, the plastic base made a cracking noise last time I used it. I didn't see any visible cracks, but it suggests that the plastic base isn't so strong, so it's best to be careful to always push the handle straight down and not at an angle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bang for the buck This product has worked great for me. I pump my street tires on my MT Bike up to about 60-65 psi. It doesn't get difficult pumping to higher pressures like other pumps I have used. The dual valve head is very hand when you have multiple bikes in the garage and only one pump, no adapters needed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Meh... This is the second one of these pumps I've owned, because the first one broke after about 8 uses. If I had more money to spend on a pump, I'd buy a Joe Blow. The mechanism that attaches to the stem of the tube is tough to remove from the stem sometimes, actually ripping the stem off the tube in one instance. Not recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good We just got the pump 2 months ago and so far so good. Stable and easy to use. Seems durable so far.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good pump, terrible head. Bought this when I was out for a ride and my portable pump failed. REI was only a mile away so I walked over and bought this one. Looked at smaller pumps but none really looked worthwhile and a newer second floor pump for home seemed like a good idea. The pump itself has a large readable gauge for us aging cyclists. Five stars for the main pump unit. ONE star for the UNUSABLE head they supply. It's difficult to get it on a P-valve properly and sometimes almost impossible to remove. No schrader valves so it never was tried on those. For those banging/scraping fingers taking a tight pump head off the valve, put your hand AROUND the tire and push with your thumb to pop the hose head off. I also sometimes saw the gauge jump/drop, possibly not giving accurate readings. Fortunately for me, I had an extra Avenir Universal Head Bicycle Replacement Floor Pump Hose that I intended to use with a handle and my air compressor. I easily removed the stock hose/head and installed the Avenir in its place. I knew this replacement was a good choice from having upgraded another (schrader head) floor pump I bought a few years ago and it has worked well since. After this replacement on the FP-55 I had no problems with sticking heads, AND the easy read air gauge no longer was unstable when attached. For those of you looking for the Avenir hose, it is the one with a single hole that is usable with either schrader/presta, NOT the one with dual holes that looks like the one that comes on this pump. I would ONLY recommend this pump to those comfortable replacing the hose head.
