Comments about Serfas FP-55 Floor Pump:
The air gauge was off by 20 lbs.and blew the tire off the rim putting 15 lbs of air in tire. The spare "basket ball" type needle kept falling out of the handle. Returned and exchanged for a different pump.

Comments about Serfas FP-55 Floor Pump:
Looks and feels like a decent pump but I've had repeated problems of the pressure valve ripping off my tube stems. At low pressure the pumps works fine, 80 lbs or less. The problem is when you use pressure between 90-120 the flip valve doesn't release and it ends up ripping off the stem to the tube. Going to try out a Lezny pump to see if it does a better job.

Comments about Serfas FP-55 Floor Pump:
Got this pump and used it only 3 times (100psi) and the hose going to the gauge broke and the pump is useless. I tried to fix it but you can't even fix it. I am taking this back, REI should not sell pumps with poor quality like this one!

Comments about Serfas FP-55 Floor Pump:
This product has worked great for me. I pump my street tires on my MT Bike up to about 60-65 psi. It doesn't get difficult pumping to higher pressures like other pumps I have used. The dual valve head is very hand when you have multiple bikes in the garage and only one pump, no adapters needed.

Comments about Serfas FP-55 Floor Pump:
This works well for a cheap pump. It's really quick and easy to fill tires compared with a mini-pump. I personally pump my tires to 70-80 psi with no problem or leaks. I believed the bad reviews but bought it anyway since I live close to REI; I'm glad I didn't follow those reviews. It comes with a needle and a fitting for beach balls, which aren't listed in the specs.
The only downside I found, the plastic base made a cracking noise last time I used it. I didn't see any visible cracks, but it suggests that the plastic base isn't so strong, so it's best to be careful to always push the handle straight down and not at an angle.

Comments about Serfas FP-55 Floor Pump:
I've used this on both Presta and Schrader valves. I was new to the Presta valve assembly and I see that many of the reviews speak to difficulty pumping at higher pressures or that it is hard to remove the pump head from the valve. I iniitally had problems but I rectified them all by 1) making sure my presta valve was open; and 2) not pushing pump head all the way onto the valve. You do not need to.
Now it works great. Easy enough to pump and having the integrated pressure dial is great. It is best for the garage so that you can pump up quickly before taking off.
It is also at least half the price of all the other pumps. Yes there are some plastic parts, but it still seems durable and stable.

Comments about Serfas FP-55 Floor Pump:
One word to describe it....Junk! This thing is so hard to pump!! My bike needs 115 PSI; it kept spitting the nozzle off at about 85-90 PSI. Could never get past that. Please find another pump. Do not get this pump unless you want to injure your wrist. Returned it and got the JoeBlow Topeka Sport Pump...doing great so far. Much easier to pump.

Comments about Serfas FP-55 Floor Pump:
I researched the bike pumps and was going to be a Topeak Joe Blow Pro which was not carried. The salesman said to be this cheapie because it was great and they couldn't keep it in stock. The one we have that has a valve leak works better than this. Returning it immediately.

Comments about Serfas FP-55 Floor Pump:
Like the headline suggest this is a great pump as long as you are not inflating road bike tires. At, or about, 70 psi the seal on the head starts to leak making it nearly impossible to get any higher. This is especially true for presta valve tires. Using an adapter and the Schrader head only made it leak slower.
As long as you are using this for just MTN bikes, I'd imagine you'd be happy with the pump.

Comments about Serfas FP-55 Floor Pump:
I have had this pump for about 14 months. Yesterday it started leaking at the base of the pump. Even tightening the base didn't fix it. Save yourself buy something that is better quality and longer warranty.
