    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Rated5out of5byfromComfortable and warm jacketComfortable and warm. This jacket is warm enough and wind proof enough to wear on it's own, but also works well as a layer under a waterproof shell. It has a good fit and stretchy soft shell allows for easy movement.

Rated4out of5byfromPerfect for what it isLooking for a soft shell and found this for an unbeatable price (half of retail). So far I have been very satisfied. Here's the run down; this is a soft shell, it's not a down parka made for K2. It definitely cuts the wind. And sheds light rain. PERFECT for LAYERING. I'm 6 foot and 200 lbs, and in good shape. I bought the XL size and it's comfey/roomy. Cinch it up alone and it's a perfect windbreaker. I layered it with a light Smartwool and a micro-fleece and was comfortable into the 30's. Also great around the house with just a tee-shirt. Sheds coffee as well as rain :) Nice big pockets. Have NOT found the lack of fleece at the top of the zipper to be an irritation. ONLY complaint is the Velcro cuffs have a tendency to come undone, especially if you put your hands in and out of your pockets constantly.

Rated5out of5byfromJust right!Ive been wanting one of these for years now. Finally got one in black and its just as awesome as I thought it would be. Its rugged feeling, and despite its thin walls, I don't even notice the cold outside, its completely windproof, and I can wear it out to dinner without looking out of place. Im 6'1" and 170 lbs athletic build, and ended up getting a medium. The shoulders on the large fit me best, but the bottom of the jacket would poof out too much in the back, so i got the Medium for a more form fitting look. My abnormally long arms still fit without looking odd, and a longer sleeve would actually get in the way if i were to be using my hands frequently. If the jacket isn't warm enough at very low temps, I would suggest throwing a down vest over it, that would look cool too.

Rated2out of5byfromOdd fitThis was intended to replace an older REI softshell of similar design; however, this jacket fits like a sail. I am 6'1", not a heavy guy but far from rail thin, and received a large as a gift. I would not want the sleeves to be any shorter, and would prefer a little longer torso. So a medium would not have fit. The main problem is that there was just a tremendous amount of extra space in the torso and even in the arms, and was rather stiff. If your expectation is to treat this more like a general purpose jacket, I suppose that would be fine. My intent for this jacket was for cool weather outdoor activity: something fitted that moves with me, something I can wear under my heavier ski jacket without feeling bulky. My first thought was that they had sent a "big and tall" sans the tall. On the "plus" side, there is definitely room for layering! I'll be keeping my old REI shell for now, it is a size large and fits perfectly. As far as quality, I would say it is in line with my expectations for North Face with the exception of the zippers. Someone else mentioned the zippers. They seem pretty cheesy to me, with very fine teeth. Since when do these hold up? Disappointing, North Face.

Rated2out of5byfromWell made but poor fitThis was a great shell at first sight, good quality materials, good feel (as expected from TNF), and the color selection is great. When you put it on however, and later try to move around with it, it's the worst fitted piece of clothing I ever put on. The torso cut is a brick shape, so M size would stretch on my chest, and the L would hang like a parachute. I'm not a body builder triangle type, just fairly fit like most other REI patrons. Thanks REI for the one of a kind return policy :)

Rated5out of5byfromBAM!As soon as I put this jacket on, suburban girls were asking me where they could get a pumpkin spice latte and what year my Subaru was. I was a bit thankful for the attention.

Rated4out of5byfromGreat Jacket for a XL manI owned 3 shoftshell jackets before and I only had 1 that I truly loved. Until I got this one. The only down fall that I can see with it is that it might be to warm to go running in or something like that and the sleeve straps are a plastic. I got this jacket to replaced my damaged Key III from Colombia which I loved and wanted to replacement from but they didn't have the right color. I got my $ back and got this one instead. I am a XL person and I got the XL. The fit is not to tight but also not really loose, so I don't look like a stuffed sausage nor do I look like I am wearing something I might have settled on. I like how warm it is but in Washington right know it is hot (July 80's) so I haven't had time to wear it around town. I did take it up a few mountains with snow and it held up as expected. If you are a bigger person like myself I would suggest getting this jacket, you'll love the fit.
