The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about The North Face Apex Bionic Jacket - Men's:
This jacket is an extremely versatile softshell. That being said it is not a rain jacket nor does it have the warmth of a down/ski jacket by itself. If layered properly underneath with a fleece or down sweater this jacket can be worn down to single digits. That being said this is my go to jacket in 40 degree and below weather, its completely windproof, repels snow, ice and sleet very well (rain will soak into it after a period of time). Does everything a great softshell should.
I wear this jacket through most of the Minnesota winter (again properly layered underneath, depending on the temperatures) and have also taken it on a month long geology field course in the southwestern US, it was perfect for blocking the night time winds and keeping me warm while constantly outside.
I purchased mine about 3 years ago when the TNF Apex was still embroidered on the sleeve and it has held up very well. It still sheds moisture and blocks the wind like it did when it was new.
I have also seen the newer versions of this jacket and have heard complaints that the overall quality of North Face products has declined. I can't speak for all of their products but as this jacket is one of those that has become popular among people all over, not just with those who use it as it was designed for, it is now being sold in more places too. That being said I would not be surprised if the quality of this jacket has decreased in the last 2-3 years since I purchased mine.
Overall I think this was and most likely still is a outstanding and extremely versatile softshell. It is now just more likely that one may have a defect in it since the North Face has gone to mass marketing these among many of their products.

Comments about The North Face Apex Bionic Jacket - Men's:
I took this jack with a lightweight down vest on a camping trip with 4" snowfall and lows in the teens. My toes froze but this jacket combined with the vest kept my core surprisingly warm. The jacket repelled the snow and moisture the entire weekend.
I also received several compliments wearing the jacket into a professional office environment - a pleasant surprise.

Nice light jacket that provides some warmth. Love the pockets and style. However I'm use to wearing a sweat jacket which is more comfortable.

Both the main zipper and the chest pocket zipper broke within ~12 months after normal use. My first and last TNF jacket.

Comments about The North Face Apex Bionic Jacket - Men's:
I wanted a jacket that was light enough to wear for snowboarding, still have warmth like a heavy jacket. This jacket fits my needs and body. In 50 degree weather in the mountains, I felt comfortable wearing a t-shirt under this jacket while snowboarding. I can do my tricks while not feeling constricted or cold. The North Face Apex Bionic Jacket is a great jacket. I got the green & orange one and it matches my snowboard pants. Now, if I can find another piece of clothing that matches green or orange, I would be even more happy.

Comments about The North Face Apex Bionic Jacket - Men's:
This product looks simple but feels very sophisticated and high quality. I wear this not only for outdoor activities but can wear it to work (hospital), formal outings, or even a family get-together. It is very versatiles. The TNF out if very high quality that you can tell with every movement and touch of the jacket. My wife loves it and agrees about the quality. As for running in it, i would suggest getting a whole size larger since the jacket runs true to fit but the elasticity of the material is very sturdy but is semi-flexible. running in them every now and then would be bad but id imagine looser more flexible jackets are more ideal for running. flexibility issues end there since this jacket is great for climbing and daily use. also, black on black was the best color choice for keeping a professional and "daily driver" look. the other color combinations looked very recreational with their colors. just my opinions for those planning on doing work and play with this jacket.

Comments about The North Face Apex Bionic Jacket - Men's:
Rarely does one get exactly what they want, but the Apex Bionic jacket is a pretty good thing. I needed a comfortable soft shell that would cut wind and shed some light precip and this jacket does exactly that.
I'm a big guy, 6'6" and 230 lbs and the XL fits well. The cut of the jacket allows for layers without getting baggy or poofy. The jacket breathes fairly well when I'm on the move.
Overall, its a good product at a good price. That's tough to beat.
Service and delivery comments:
I had to order over the phone because I needed to use a prepaid gift card. My representative was courteous and handled the transaction quickly. It arrived sooner than I expected even after shipping from a faraway warehouse. Good work.

Comments about The North Face Apex Bionic Jacket - Men's:
I'm 5'11", 175lbs and bought this in a large. Sleaves are plenty long, lots of room in the chest but the armpits are positioned way too high. Because of this using the jacket as a shell over a fleece/heavy sweater/anything bulky is impossible. That being said, its reasonably warm by itself and provides good wind protection and decent wetness protection. Would recommend with the sizing the caveat I mentioned above.
