I ordered a size larger than I'd normally wear because I walk my dog twice a day and it's often raining and just above freezing. The extra size allows me to wear it over my winter jacket. It's lightweight and packed easily in carry-on luggage for a recent trip. The hood drawstring is a bit difficult to manage (would prefer a toggle), but I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. Very satisfied!

I returned this jacket because it was not waterproof. I took it to the Oregon Coast for a three-day backpacking trip in March and it was immediately soaked. It kept me soaking wet the entire time and served only as a wet windbreaker when hiking along the coast. It's very lightweight and has well-placed pockets.

I bought this product with the intention of hiking around Florida, where it rains often in the spring and summer. I had worn the jacket a few times in light rain and it worked Ok. The advertisement on REI.com states that the jacket is completely waterproof in a rain downpour. During Memorial Day weekend, I went hiking and it happened to rain...A LOT. The jacket was NOT waterproof at all and I ended up completely soaked underneath after just a few minutes. In addition, my cell phone was also damaged and needed to be replaced due to the poor quality of this product. I would certainly not recommend this jacket to anyone.
