The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor - Men's:
The monitor would work intermittently. It would tell me frequently to check the transmitter. I changed the transmitter battery despite only having the Polar for about a month. No change. Would be in the middle of a workout only to have the HR disappear.

Comments about Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor - Men's:
I needed a HRM watch to monitor my workouts. This model was recommended to me so I got it. I am happy with it - it works great and helps me keep track of my calories burned per workout. I only use it for that purpose and time/date. It's simple and it works.

Comments about Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor - Men's:
Doesn't display heart rate and elapsed time in same field making interval training, speedwork and Fartleks difficult to perform

The unit worked as advertised. However I am having trouble downloading my workouts to my computer. I am going to call the help desk for assistance.

Comments about Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor - Men's:
All functions work. However, to get instructions how to make them work I had to visit non-Polar websites rather than consult the supplied (useless) manual.
Polar has gone downhill since I purchased the predecessor F6 many years ago.
AVOID THIS MODEL. Maybe AVOID Polar (my previous favorite).

Comments about Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor - Men's:
Manual inadequate. Does not describe how to alter settings. You must visit a Polar website and view multiple tutorials.
Does not detect heart rate when used as manuals and tutorials instruct.
This is a total piece of garbage and will be returned.
Prior HRM was Polar F6. Worked fine for 10 years.
Easy to set up and use.
This one is USELESS.

Comments about Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor - Men's:
This is a nice unit for someone wanting a good basic heart rate monitor. I has functions for calorie counter, target zones, average and high heart rate display, time in zone and total workout time. My only complaint os the callender, it set as d/m/y and i prefer m/d/y. It does not effect the workings or abilities of the unit, just pet peeve. If you are lookng for a good everyday heart rate monitor then this is it. For [$] you get alot.

Comments about Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor - Men's:
The FT-4 does exactly what I was looking for - give me HR and CAL burned and do it simply. The set-up was very easy and has worked flawlessly. I've used it in intense gym workouts to wlakingthe dogs thru the woods.
he REI staff were great matching this to my needs and not selling me features I woudl never use. Yeah the chest strap feels weird at first but after an hour you don't know its there.
The feature where you can put the watch next to the HR strap and the watch switches to time for a few seconds is handy. Especially when the othetr hand has the dog leash.
Great unit. Really great with 20% member discount.

Comments about Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor - Men's:
Cannot view workout time and heart rate in the same screen. Didn't polar think those might be the most important features when you are working out? I can't believe that I wasted my coupon on this junky HRM. Had a comparable old version that finally died after 3 years. I thought this would be equivalent and maybe an upgrade.
All data on the website has to be entered manually. Menus are clumsy. The chest strap is very itchy and the monitor "box" on the fron is painful on my ribs. I use my old strap that is worn out so I don't have to suffer with the new strap.

Comments about Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor - Men's:
I like the setup of the watch and heart rate features, but the menus could really be simplified. Also, the alarm is very quiet and hard to hear. It needs to be louder.
