With a 28 in. inseam, the men's REI Sahara Convertible pants with No-Sit Zips feature an innovative new design that makes converting from pants to shorts and back again easier than ever before!
- Side zippers run the full length of the lower legs; together with thigh zippers they allow quick conversions without requiring wearer to sit down
- They also preclude the need to slip lower legs sections over messy boots when converting from pants to shorts along a muddy trail
- Color-coded thigh zippers help you easily tell the right leg from the left leg when converting back to pants
- Lightweight nylon fabric dries quickly, resists pilling and is easy to pack away in a backpack
- With a UPF 50+ rating, fabric provides excellent protection against harmful ultraviolet rays

Pants were exactly what I wanted/expected. I ordered the next shorter lenghth as suggested by other reviewers. I fit most makes of pants if they are 32" waist / 30" inseam. I ordered medium / 28" inseam, and they fit fine. I chose the charcoal color and they did not come with color-coded zippers (no big deal for me).

This is my fifth pair, I think the REI brand is one of the best kept secrets in activewear. I prefer it over the named labels (North Face, etc.), hands down. When traveling or camping it is three items in one. Pant, shorts, and in a pinch, a swimsuit. The only thing I don't like is the vertical side zipper, I don't get it, and it prevents you from shorting the inseam. The only other thing I would add, is to buy two pairs, one for active use, and one for knock around, because once the active pants get mud ground into them, it never seems to all come out. ALSO, if any other the REI suits read this, how about adding black to the REI inventory, not everybody is active in the summer, just a thought

I bought these primarily for backpacking during the warmer months as well as travel. They seem generously cut, and I felt maybe a tad longer than the advertised inseam. I really like the vertical zip on the lower legs which allows you to put them on without removing boots. The belt that comes with them is an afterthought really, but not a big deal since I prefer a sturdier belt anyways. Overall they're a good buy...I especially like that REI has pants in the shorter inseams.

This is the second pair I ordered after the first pair had to long of an inseam. 30" more like a 32". I would step on the pant leg.
I ordered the 28" inseam online and they fit like the 30".
REI also removed the inside front pocket which was perfect fit for a cell phone.

These pants are NOT true to fit. The 28 inch inseam are not 28 inches. I am a short guy and I had to suck up my pride and actually try on the Boys sizes (on a relatively slow day at REI, of course). The Boys size Large (14-16) is a great fit. It has a 28 inch inseam and an adjustable 28-32 inch waist. If you are a Mens size 30-32, but shorter in stature, take my advice and order the Boys L 14-16 online and you will be quite happy with the pants. AND it's cheaper, so yes, it is a short size but you are saving a lot of money. WIN WIN.....

Let's get something straight; eighty percent of the men out here in the real world are not magazine models. Many of us are short, overweight, and big around the middle. It is nearly impossible to find pants with a waist size over 40" and a length less than 28". These pants are as close as I've found to fitting my size. Nevertheless, the drop from waist to crotch could be a little more generous in the butt, without resorting to having that baggy, I just dropped a load look. I would also like to see a little more stretch in the waist for the fat crowd (of which I belong), so as not to cut into our veluptuous folds as much. Finally, if they were even 26 or 25" lengths I would buy them.
As a positive note, they could be the ideal pants for just about anything. I wear mine to work, in the yard, camping, etc. They are also so light-weight that they are the only pants I take when I travel. Please keep these things in mind. There are many of us who are built more like gorillas than gazelles.
