I'm a huge consumer of loose green tea, and when I used this mug I knew my days of dealing with tea balls was over. You put the loose tea (or coffee) in the bottom, screw the top on and go. The filter screen comes off easily to clean(it stays on when you want it to). The cover screws on to keep all the liquid contained at any angle! The stainless steel doesn't ever smell, and rinses out easily. It's a cool looking mug on top of it.

I got this travel mug to replace a trusty one whose cap had broken after 3 years of use. I need something that'll seal tight for being roughed around in a pack, keep beverages hot for a long time, and be able to brew loose tea, as that's the only kind of tea I really drink. This mug is perfect.

Others have complained that it almost works a little TOO well with how hot it keeps liquids. Well, my last mug was the same, so I got used to timing how long I needed to leave the lid off to allow it to cool. If I want to drink it a little sooner, I filter out the liquid into a cup. Obviously not the most convenient when you're on-the-go, but I'd rather have a mug that keeps liquid hot for a long time than one that falls short.

The 15oz size is also perfect and it's slim and fits into a pack neatly. I love it.

I am a cheap person. I am. So when I was looking for a mug/cup for camping and backpacking I looked long and hard. I read the reviews and was impressed. Was not with the price. I'm cheap. But with REI you can bring it back so I took a chance - and let me tell you. OH MY GOSH! I am in love. Worth every penny. I can put ice in it and still have ice the NEXT DAY! no joke! And keeping hot drinks hot..well there is no problem there either. Recently went to DC from NC and fixed hot tea and my tea was still hot that evening. My mom and sister thought I was making it up so they tried it and couldn't believe it. I am in process of ordering 2 more for friends. The only draw back is lid is loose. But that is if you HAVE to find a flaw! Buy it. Use it. Love it!

I absolutely love this thermos. I had been wanting a thermos that would keep my coffee hot for more than an hour (I'm a slow drinker!) and this guy totally fits the bill. I've taken it out hiking with me in <30 degree weather. The outside of the thermos will be freezing cold, but my coffee is still piping hot! Brings a smile to my face every time! The only time I've had problems with it leaking was when I forgot to screw the lid on completely before tossing it in my bag. Other than that I've never had any problems - even with it sitting completely horizontal in my bag for about 3 hrs while hiking. My only gripe with it is that the little filter that sits on top is really difficult to clean. Grime kind of builds up along the edges....but half the time I just don't use it...

use this mug for my tea in the morning, keeps it warm for hours! it is just slightly small (15 oz instead of the standard 16) so you get a little cheated out of a drink when you buy one from the coffee shop. Only real problem I have with it is that if I buy a drink it tends to take too long to cool off, even with the top off. overall good insulator for hot or cold, and very packable

I rated this a 4 because I am very happy with it. A five means: "it cannot get any better than this." Well, I'm sure that it can get better. I mean, it still remains to be a product that will rust and rot some day. But I've had it for at least a month now and it does not leak, spill, or cause any frustrations. The only complaint I have is that it keeps liquid too warm. Honestly, I can keep the lid off and the tea or coffee I'm trying to sip remains steaming hot for the next hour and a half. So for all practical purposes, the vaccum may not be extremely practical. It also depends on the temp at which you pour the drink into the vaccum to begin with. Any ways, I have not tested it out camping yet, but I am sure that this would be the most practical. If you intend to have fresh-like brewed coffee of tea at the top of a mountain, or the destination of a couple hour hike, then this is the vacuum for you!

I use the product while snowshoeing and the slim design makes it small enough to put in a jacket pocket. I have used this product many times and have never had anything spill, which was a concern about keeping it in my pocket. The easy twist off cap and convient opening for drinking make it really nice. It would be nice if it was dishwasher safe, but is not hard to clean by hand.
