Rated4out of5byConnieCfromNice HatWear for hiking. Very good protection and nice and cool on hot days. Not the most stylish hat out there but it doesn't get dirty easily and fits very well (I wear a medium sized hat usually).

Rated3out of5byDead eyefromOkay, yet could be better...I am an avid outdoors adventurer, yet use outdoor gear for work and play all the time. This hat looks okay, feels okay, but doesn't live up to its' name. It sheds rain well, keeps head warm, if a bit too much, but is not breathable. When folding the rim up on the sides the velcro pads are not lined up, so it looks odd when folded up. Great for keeping the sun off the ears. Rain doesn't penetrate, yet if you sweat it pours down your face and neck. Okay for a sunblock-rain hat, yet seems to me that all these style of hats are overpriced. Can't tighten the rear chord much to tighten it up, either.

Rated4out of5bypete75fromRain hat but no rainBought it for a trip to Ireland this summer and rain is expected hiking the Mourne Mountains in No. Ireland. Used it in mid May for three days on the Trans Catalina Trail. Not rainy weather, just trying it out. It was too hot.
Came out of my pack looking new for the entire trip. I think I'll get a lot
of good use in Ireland and this winter in So. Cal.
