Bought one for myself, three months later bought 7 more as gifts....had a problem with the seal. contacted the factory, recieved not only new seal, but several more and lids to boot. Can't say enough about the mug, all my kids use theres every day, me as well

I use it almost every day as a regular Coffee Cup.

Sometimes I'll just grind my own coffee and use the press but I like a little creamer in my coffee.

Letting the French press be settled at the bottom of your cup rather than a separate device can increase the Caffeine over time.

Make sure it's clean if you use Press + Creamer.

I love this travel mug. The second cup on the base is why I got it. I have one major issue with it. The press mechanism is plastic instead of metal, unlike Bodum French presses. This means inserting the plunger into the cup could actually damage it if you don't give it your full attention. If the plunger press was changed to a metal design like the Bodum press I would give it 5 stars but I am sure there are patens on it and that is why they went with plastic. For the price with plastic plunger it is over priced

This is a good press for traveling or car camping. I have yet to use it on a backpacking trip but I am not sure I will take it because of the weight and bulkyness. There are other presses on the market that seem more functional for backpacking. BUT this press is great for other used. The compartment to store extra grounds is nice for when you want to make another cup at the office or where ever

I thought this mug was kind of expensive when I first bought it, but after using it every day for a few months now, I honestly think it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. Instead of paying almost $2.00 for a cup of coffee at work, I make my own. The ergonomics are nice, the plunger is smooth, and it's super easy to clean. It's not completely insulated like a thermos (nothing is), but my coffee is still pretty hot 20-30 minutes later. The coffee storage container at the bottom is a nice addition, and I'll definitely use it next time I go camping.

The coffee this makes is great, and I use it on a daily basis when at home. The mug keeps coffee warm for an adequate amount of time.

However the problem that I have with this mug is that when I am backpacking, the mug is very hard to position to not tip over d/t it being so top heavy. Sometimes it's just easier to hold it through breakfast which is kind of a pain.

I have recently bought the Jetboil press, so hopefully that works better while camping, and I will still be using my REI mug everyday at home

I love this thing! It is one of my highly cherished pieces of gear that will be loved for years. Yes, it's heavy, but then again I like the heavy feel to it in my hand. I wouldn't take this backpacking anyway; there are more minimalist options out there. Yes, it's a little unstable compared to other mugs, but for the most part it's either on my desk or on a picnic table while car camping. Not much danger there. I use this almost daily to replace the "coffee" that's brewed at my job. And while camping I like my coffee my way, and this does the job.

Purchased this to make coffee at the office. Needed something simple and this unit is perfect. I can add my sugar substitute in the mug along with the coffee and add hot water. Place the press lid on top, wait 4 minutes, push down and I have 12 ounces of great tasting brewed coffee.
It does everything I needed it to do, even measures out the coffee with the 3 tablespoon compartment in the bottom.
The coffee stays plenty hot for the time that it takes for me to drink it which is 20-30 minutes.
Although there are some complaints of the small base making it unstable, I find the heaviness of the unit keeps it planted in place just fine.

Only time will tell if the plastic fin seal around the Strainer will hold up. Wish it would have been the same type of seal as around the lids.

I have been using this mug for about a year now. The concept is outstanding however it turns into a [$] Dribble mug with hot beverages. Contrary to other reviews I've read on this, it keeps my tea hot for a fairly long time. I can only drink about 1/2 the cup though before the dribbling starts. If they can fix the seal..this would be a 5+ star rating..

I have used this product almost every day throughout the year and in a wide variety of conditions. It is great for a large single serving. Just pour near-boiling water in it and it will stay hot for a few hours. I am not very gentle with how I handle this mug to the extent of dropping it, stuffing it in a pack, or just inadvertently knocking it over. It is spill resistant and creates very little mess when covered. It stays clean and does not retain residue if you are willing to take a minute to rinse it out and wipe down the press after every use.
Personally, I do not like to clean it in the dishwasher often, but when I have, it has suffered no ill effect.
