Comments about La Sportiva Wildcat Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I use these a couple times a week for disc golf only. This is on varied terrain (clean fairways to wet/muddy ground to thick brush to cement tee boxes); traction is great on all. Comfortable and breathable.
Granted, this isn't the most extreme of sports, but the heel pivoting/foot planting tends to blow out shoes quickly (Salomons, Merrels, North Face). These are holding up great and are very comfy out of the box.

Comments about La Sportiva Wildcat Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
O.K. O.K. I know that these are trailrunners and I am going to review them from a backpacker's point of view. I was tired of lugging around heavy boots to backpack in that didn't really do anything for me that a lighter shoe would do. I have found that if you can get your pack weight down below 30 lbs trailrunners are the perfect shoe for backpacking. The Lasportiva Wildcats are perfect for this because they have the trailrunner characteristics but are rugged enough and have enough support to carry the load of a pack. I love them and will never go back to heavy leather boots. I can't comment on the longevity of these yet as I have only had them on the trail a few times but so far so good and they are comfortable right out of the box.

Comments about La Sportiva Wildcat Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I am in my 60's with one knee replaced and the other one headed there plus an arthritic ankle so I really needed something that would give me support and cushioning. These shoes have been great so far. My feet are slightly narrow and these seem to fit great. They are my favorite everyday shoes for just about everything. Heel is comfortable and snug with no slippage. Sole has jus the right amount of flex while being stable. Overall, I think they are a great walking shoe and my kids think I am cool too. I have even walked 19 holes of golf in them.

Comments about La Sportiva Wildcat Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I am an avid trail runner and have been buying cheap shoes for years. This was my first big purchase pair of shoes and these things rock! Have had great success in the 6 times I've used them...they feel great and have been wearing well. Only thing is that the EU size does not match the US size...so if you order them thru the REI website order the US size that you normally would.

Comments about La Sportiva Wildcat Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
Break in these shoes and you will never go back to your old brand! These are the most comfortable trail runners/hikers I have ever owned. The traction is awesome and they last a long time. I use these for my snow hikes instead of my boots because they are more comfortable and keep there grip even in cold temps. If you get the gore tex version you will have all your trail shoes in one purchase. Just wish they would bring back the yellow wildcats.

Comments about La Sportiva Wildcat Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
My first pair of La Sportivas, these shoes new had great traction, comfortable feel, and wick sweat away fast. I also liked some little details, like the sealed seams, relatively light weight, and the little plastic gaurd on the back.
However, both the soles (especially the green traction nubs) and the fabric wore especially fast. Their own brand name rubbed off the top of the toe cap within the first week of owning them. Discolored, uneven wearing material everywhere else.
They are not supportive enough in my opinion for the trail. Not good around wet rock/concrete either as others noted. Shoe upper drys fast, but cheap, foam bottom doesn't. When the traction numbs wear off, you won't want to use them for anything except around town after.
Overall, just feels like a very cheap pair of shoes that...weren't.

Comments about La Sportiva Wildcat Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
These were my second pair of Wild Cats, 1st was gore tex outer (which held up much better). These fit awesome right out of box on long rocky/rooty and wet Northern New England trails. Comfortable on long runs without any break in period and I never got blisters with these. BUT... they fell apart quickly, more quickly than any trail shoe I've had. The outer on the outside of both shoes, near the front of the shoe, just ripped apart and this lead to lack of forefoot stability. Also, I do not think the cushioning lasted long. I have to retire these after only 250 miles.

Comments about La Sportiva Wildcat Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I couldn't afford to buy a running shoe and a hiking shoe so this is what I chose and they are GREAT! Very light and the support is outstanding, I am concerned about the wear from running on the road but so far I haven't seen anything significant. This shoe also offers a water proof version (G-) which I am curious about ... are they as light, will they be as comfortable. Every now and then you make a purchase you are "Very Pleased" about ... this is one for me.

Comments about La Sportiva Wildcat Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
These are the best trail shoes I own, but not my favorite. Although they are fast, nimble, responsive and agressive, for some reason my left heel becomes very sore on runs longer than ten miles. And the soreness lasts for days. So, they are relegated to being used for running about once or twice per month, but they're the first shoe I reach for when going for a hike.

Comments about La Sportiva Wildcat Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
Switched for these from another La Sportive shoe which was giving me pain on top of my feet and these were awesome. Trained for the SoCal Tough Mudder competition in Las Vegas, running on streets, parks, and off road, hills and rocky terrain. Had great traction on every surface and never had pain in my feet, even after long 10+ mile runs. Completed the 11+ mile Tough Mudder in SoCal and so thrilled at how they helped me perform. Though mud, ice water, across the lake, trail running, they held my foot great, never slipped, and after all that, cleaned off like new. Definitely a great purchase.
