The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
by the swimmerfromDont use on smooth wet surfaces! When the sole is wet it is very slippery. I wore them at a therapy pool and when I reached the wet pool deck my feet slipped out from under me and I fell sustaining injuries to my knee, hip, and back. If they would reformulate the sole I would love them as they easily accomodate my hammer toes and seemed comfortable the short time I wore them.

by speck007fromVery disappointingI loved the look of these and ordered a pair through REI online. I've had other Keens and they always run true to size. However, when these arrived my heel kept hanging off the back while there was a ton a room up by my toes. No matter how tight I adjusted the heel, I couldn't get my toes to move up and get my heel off the edge. I went to an REI store and tried a larger size and same thing happened-my toes were a full inch or more from the top but my heel was hanging off the back. Maybe my feet are just odd, but watch out for this.

by akmama87fromnarrowI am an avid Keen fan. Bought my first pair with a gift card from high school graduation and had them for four years. Convinced my husband to switch over to Keens (from just run of the mil sandals/hiking shoes) and now my son get a pair every summer.
This being said, I was sadly disappointed when these adorable shoes did not fit. They are incredibly narrow, I wear a size 9 in Keens and ordered the same size in the Whisper. The Newport and Newport H2 both fit perfectly in a nine, these were much much too narrow. Had to send back for a refund. Going back to the Newport line.

by CarfromRun really smallThis was to be a replacement for my old keens, and I ordered them in the same size as my old ones, but my foot is hanging off the back. Easily a full size off in sizing, and the width is much narrower than all of the other keens I've had, either sandals or closed shoes.

by AlwaysAdventuringfromLoved them...maybe a little too muchI loved these Keens except that they started breaking after only wearing them for a few months. I bought them to wear on canoeing trips and to wear as camp shoes. I went on a 10 day canoeing trip and these were perfect! I literally wore them for 10 days straight. They were super comfy and didn't need to be broken in. They stayed secure to my feet even when I was swimming in a rapid. Once out of the water they dried very quickly. I had these Keens for about 5 months before I noticed webbing near the heel separating from the sole of the shoe, but I returned them to REI and got a new pair! Since they didn't have any of the Whispers in my size I ended up getting the Newports instead. Having worn both styles of Keens I noticed that the Whisper's straps stretched out more easily than the Newports (could be because they're skinnier). Not a big deal though because the bungee helps the shoes stay on anyway. Overall, I really liked these shoes, but they didn't last very long for me. Maybe I was a little too rough on them?
Fun fact: after wearing these shoes canoeing over the summer, I developed awesome tiger-stripe tan lines on my feet!!

by MollyBlackfromNot a solid fitI feel like when I wear the shoe my feet slide off the back. It is very uncomfortable the poor design of the back of the shoe. The shoe is well made, durable, but I would prefer if my foot does not slide off the back.

by saltysuefromNot what I expectedI've worn Keen Newport H2s for a number of years and I've loved them. They are hands down the most comfortable shoes I own. Their drawbacks have been that they are HOT and a little clunky looking. I was really looking forward to wearing Keen's new Whisper shoe. It has a really nice look to it and is much more open than the Newport (and hopefully not as hot during the heat of the summer). I was really disappointed that the arch support in the Whisper is significantly less than other Keen's I've worn. The sole also did not feel as substantial. I wore them around the house for about an hour and decided that these shoes are not for me. As cute as they are, they don't provide the comfort I've come to expect from Keen. I will be returning these shoes.

by Dust Wind GirlfromJust okI've been a fan of Keen's Newport H2's for several years but was tempted by Whisper's more feminine, less chunky appearance. Whispers are indeed a bit cuter than the H2's. However I don't find them to be nearly as supportive or comfortable. Also, they itch almost unbearably across the top of the foot after a while. This may be a Whisper design flaw-- the stretchy elastic bands are coming into direct contact with my skin. For this reason I cannot recommend.
