Rated 4 out of 5 by from As comfortable as my bed! 4.8 stars As in other reviews: do not over inflate. A slight inflation is better. This is the best camping mat I have ever used. Even on BLM land in Rocky Utah I only kicked rocks to prevent damage to my tent floor. The Exped forgives a lot of the rough in wilderness tent sites. The 5 star was held back as I ripped my stuff sack taking the mat out (after a bit of use). When rolled properly it goes in but the sack is not real durable (this is picky). I will procure a sturdier stuff sack. The stuff sack is no way near a deal breaker. You will not be disappointed in this mat. Could be a tad heavy for a minimalist but I am not a minimalist and bought the large. Having 26" of width allows my arms to stay off the ground comfortable. I am into my 60th trip around the sun. At this age I do not find hard ground conducive to a good time camping after bicycling 70 or 80 miles with full gear. The exped 7 remedies the cold, hard ground and comfortable is how I like to roll!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than Q-Core! Ok so, I originally bought the XL version (Big guy) of this and thought It was too big to put into my pack. I tried it out for an hour or so just napping on it and WOW it was comfy and warm I was super stoaked with it. But being the hard head that I am returned it for the Q-core thinking I would enjoy the same comfort and less weight. I WAS WRONG. The Q-core is horrible compared to this pad. The q-core took longer to blow up, it was more of a pain to deflate, roll up and put back in the sack while the Synmat was easy and took less than a minute. I should also mention the synmat felt ALOT more durable and seems like it would last longer. So it will be a little more bulky in your pack, so what comfort is worth it! I am returning the Q-core for the Synmat today.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great I love how small this pad rolls up. That is the biggest issue with me is being small and compact. But I also wanted something that would be conferrable. I use it a lot for traveling because it fold up so nicely and I don't have to worry about sleeping on a concrete floor. It takes me 2 mins to inflate. Yes I timed myself. I don't have to feel lightheaded after blowing it up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pad! I got this during a kick to make my camping gear super portable, and to replace the big and (relatively) heavy self-inflating coleman sleeping pad I had been using. If the price isn't a problem for you, it is a great pad. I was willing to spend a bit more for a quality pad this time. It is comfortable, the non-slip top actually seems to be surprisingly effective, and it is small/light while still feeling durable enough that I'm not going to pop it when I put my 200lbs on it. I'm still not convinced I actually need the built in pump, but I feel better using it knowing I'm not filling the insides with moisture from my breath. The people saying it is hard to inflate, or it takes a long time must have to look at their toothpaste each morning to figure out how to brush their teeth. I didn't time myself, but you can probably inflate it in 3 minutes if you're in a rush.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So good I gave it away & bought another! I bought this because I was going to South America and would be camping a lot on a group trip from Buenos Aires to Rio and then also hike Machu Picchu. I have neck problems, so wanted to be comfy when I slept. This was definitely loads better than the small self-inflating mattresses and I started to sleep very well on it in the moderate and cold climates. The guide on the Inca trail was impressed by it, so I left it for him as a tip in the hope that the lower weight compared with his would enable him to carry warmer layers. I proceeded to be the same one again, given how much I liked it. The one downside is that if you sleep in just a liner in hot climates it's harder to turn over and makes more noise. But what air mattress doesn't make noise when you move?!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from sweet dreams I bought 2 of these. one with the built in pump and the other without. They are both easy to inflate. If you are looking to save weight I would go with out the pump and the ultra light model will be perfect. They are very warm I have found into low teens and below. Just a tad larger than a Nalgene bottle. I sleep much better now instead of using the foam pads. I have yet to have a leak and I am not very nice to my gear. It does seem to be a bit on the slippery side. but it doesn't bother me. I love these things I got one for me and my girlfriend who is always cold and she stays warm all night. size seems to fit me well I am 5'9" and very broad shouldered. my arms do fall off the sides but I sleep just fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from comfy and compact My partner and I both use these and find them really comfortable and compact. The hand pump is kind of cool, but I do get tired of pumping with wrists bent. Have modified it to use my foot - works pretty well. Like the addition of the patch kit. We are both 50+ so comfort is important. We will sometimes add a light closed-cell pad underneath for hard surfaces.
