Rated5out of5byshipmatefromSo awesome!Unbelievable assurance on icy and packed-snow trails. Very easy to put on and they stay on with confidence. I wish there was a similar style with less aggressive spikes for our frequent frozen-rain covered streets and sidewalks. A friend had the little wire on the front of his break, but he is a very extreme user. I love, love, love these.

Rated5out of5byGeoGermsfromDon't Hike the KST without itI have had a pair of these for over a year now and they are outstanding! I was initially concerned about the rubber breaking, but they are holding up well. I never leave home without them when doing the KST (ko'olau Summit Trail). It adds certainty to ever step I take, once you adjust to the extra half inch or so it adds to the bottom of your shoe (tripping hazard on rooty sections).
You do have to check on them occasionally as they tend to slip a little and need to be readjusted. I also do find that after a while of using the spikes my toes begin to hurt, but that's a price I gladly pay for overall safety.

Rated5out of5bypdenman33fromWorth every ounce and every dollarNot that this product needs anymore outstanding reviews, but these spikes are game changers. If you are hiking in mountains in spring or a transition season you would be foolish not to bring these along. Sure you can make it up snow covered ice-luge style trails without these, but why? Strap a pair of these on to some waterproof shoes w/ Gaiters and don't ever let the weather keep you inside.
On another note, these also work great on rock. They hold me going downward up to 60 degrees on flat rock. Extremely durable.
If you are considering yaktrax; don't. I returned three pairs of destroyed yaktrax runners before i realized that Microspikes are the way to go if you're dealing with harsh terrain.

Rated5out of5byCool Mellow ManfromAmazing gearThese provide amazing grip on flat or slightly hilly packed/icy terrain. Relatively easy to put on and off. On the heavy side at almost a pound, but worth it if the conditions are appropriate. I keep them in a DIY stuff sack and break them out when needed. These fit my mid hiking boots fine, but are a little too small for my snow boots - it would be great if the XL size could fit a wider range of boots. No complaints otherwise, they work great!

Rated5out of5byJamoochefromBest outdoor item I've bought in years!I've been snowshoeing for years, but always had trouble with packed snow or when hiking early or late in the season when there is little snow and a lot of ice. Problem solved! These microspikes have transformed the way I winter hike. They weigh almost nothing and pack small. When not using them, I clip them to my backpack and the hardly jingle. I've hiked all over Western MA and the White Mountains in NH with these spikes. They have amazing grip on ice and packed snow. These spikes are so awesome that I've had 4 friends buy them after the watched me using them. Do yourself a favor and buy these spikes!
