    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Rated5out of5byfromNo break in needed/good supportHave had these for a month now and am very happy with the shoes. The box toe is perfect for my foot and I needed no break in period. Excellent ankle support for a lightweight hiker - taking these to Czech Republic next month and will really put them to the test...but have no worries as this is an excellent shoe for light to medium work. Bought them based on the recommendation of a friend who uses them exclusively for his 14'teener questing in Colorado - he was right...great mid-weights!

Rated2out of5byfromComfortable, great tract, but soles fall apartLike many of the other reviewers of this boot, the soles on my boots came loose within one season. They are probably the most comfortable boot I've ever owned and the grip on the trail surface is fantastic, but they just plain fall apart way too quickly.

Rated4out of5byfromMy 4th PairI'm on my 4th pair of these boots. They are so comfortable, I wear them every day to work in an office, with occassional field work. They get used pretty much every weekend for day hikes ranging from 2-15 miles each, and snowshoeing 1-2X per year. This last pair got me to the top of White Mountain Peak with no complaints whatsoever. Oh, I also use these for jogging as well. For me, they last 13-months pretty much like clockwork. They always fail at the outboard side seam, between the leather upper and the base. Shoelaces now seem to last longer, as I'm getting about 5-6 months. I think Keen has also fixed the problem where the light gray bits fall off the sole, as they're still there after 6-months service on this latest pair. These boots are wonderful. I'd give them a 5 if the sole had a more aggressive tread, like a Vibram. They don't give you confidence when hiking down steep trails with ball-bearing sized gravel. I went back to a boot with a Vibram sole, and it did perform much better on the downhills. But it hurt so much, and was so uncomfortable, I decided to go back to the Keen. Too bad. If Keen would mate the rest of the boot to a Vibram sole, they might just have the perfect boot.

Rated5out of5byfromExcellentI had a great experience with the sales person who recommended this boot and also to lace it a better way so it was more secure around the ankle. He also recommended an insert that transformed my life of chronic low back and hip fatigue and pain. I found I did not fatigue from my legs hiking but my low back and these inserts removed 80% of the problem! It was life changing and I made it to the top of 14,000 foot volcano Tajumulco in Guatemala!

Rated4out of5byfromGreat boot so farSo far this has been a great boot (although I have only had it for a few weeks). My foot is a little wide and I had originally tried a Merrell. The Merrell while had a soft cushion, was far too narrow for my foot. Not the case at all with this Keen. I love the space in the toe box and the ankle support is fantastic. The buckles at the top of the boot lock the laces in place helping keep tension on the ankle while allowing the width and toe area to stay loose and comfortable. I love that feature. The sole of the shoe isn't as soft as the Merrell but it sure makes up for it in other areas. Good looking boot, great comfort. I am looking forward to getting on the Appalachian this spring!

Rated4out of5byfromNeeded these more than I thought I wouldI've needed boots like this for a long time, for foul weather use. They've been great in snow and rain, and plan to use them for clearing out part of my backyard. I have problems finding footwear that has enough room in the forefoot and toebox. I tried on other brands, but none came close to fitting as well as these. The only problem is a little discomfort rubbing against my ankle bones. I'm working on adjusting the shoestrings to alleviate this. That said, I plan to keep them for a very long time!

Rated5out of5byfromLove This Boot!!This boot is easy on and easy off. It is by far the most comfortable boot I have ever owned for hiking. The traction is off the charts on dry ground/rock and surprisingly good in snow/slush/mud. Did I mention it was comfortable?
