Bought these as an extra layer to survive the cold of the bust stop here in Madison. While these do serve ok as an extra layer in mild cold, they have zero stretch to them. Though they do fit, I find them extremely uncomfortable to sit in because rather than either stretching or adjusting to a bent leg, they just pinch and cut off my circulation. I hope REI will take these back.

These are so comfortable! I tried on a few pairs and wouldn't take these off! :) Normally I run about an 8 or 10 but chose to get a Large in these and that was a perfect choice so based on the size chart -they run small. If in doubt, buy one size larger. Want to own several pairs!!

Based on other reviews, I decided to go with the only size available, XL. I wanted large, since they said they ran small. I decided to see how big the XL would be. They are actually fairly comfortable except they do get fairly loose after several wears in a row. Even though they are a little loose they are not bulky and can still be worn under my regular clothes. you can't beat the price! Cozy and comfortable.
