Arc'teryx Venta AR Jacket - Men'sis rated5.0out of5by4.
Rated5out of5byns from wifromgreat softshellgreat softshell; worth the $$. by itself is not warm, but is plenty warm when worn with layers and is windproof. I've worn it with a wool sweater and synthetic down layer(micropuff jacket) and been comfortable in temps in the teens and below. bought it for the light weight, does well with light rain. I was between a S and M(5'5'' 145lbs), went with M to allow layering. sleeves are long for me, as are pretty much all jackets w my height/wt. I wear it yearround in WI for casual use, hikes/snowshoeing. Had it now for 2 years, expect it to keep holding up well.

Rated5out of5byFish Hike SkifromNice and Simple - Great fit and weightA real nice jacket. I am 6' 180 pounds and the large fits me perfectly. I like the look and feel of this jacket and use it mainly for casual wear as there are probably better technical jackets for hiking and severe weather. I have had the patagonia and a couple of marmot soft shells. For me, this one fits better and notably, is a little lighter weight and not quite as warm as the others. That said, it is more comfortable due to lighter weight and soft liner. I wear it everyday and like it's versatility for travel and work as you can easily wear it to the office (casual) and also it covers a wide span of temps if traveling. I can layer a light fleece or sweater under it and I am warm to mid 30's. With just a shirt and without an under layer, I am comfortable into mid 50's. I travel a lot for work so versatility is key. I don't think you can beat Arc'teryx for quality imho. Hope this helps.

Rated5out of5bygreyuglyfromDoes the trickFirst off, let me say I'd have given this jacket 4.5 stars if I could have, ONLY for the small reason of the looseness around the neck, when fully zipped. Minor issue, but does let a bit of wind in. Other than that, this jacket does the trick. Lightweight, windproof, and even has a bit of stretch, which allows for movement and layering. I've used it mostly on long float trips in Alaska, on days where there is a bit of rain and lots of wind. With a light base layer underneath, I rarely need anything else, unless the downpours come. Totally windproof, sheds light rain, good freedom of movement while fly casting and wading. I'm 6'2", 180lb, I got the Large, fit is excellent. not too big around the chest and waist, sized for the active lifestyle. Durability is excellent. After years of use, no sign of wear at all.
