Comments about Patagonia Tech Web Belt:
Great belt -I have been wearing one for a couple years now and just bought another just in case they stop making them. Very sturdy belt, looks good, has held up to lots of use and some abuse very well.... If you are thinking of a belt like this get this belt..

Comments about Patagonia Tech Web Belt:
This belt is amazing. I just wore it for the first time and I'll admit that when I took it out I wondered how it would snug up and stay that way. I'm not a skeptic anymore. It's nice to have a belt I don't have to worry about finding a hole on or one in between to make it fit right. It never came loose and it's very easy to take off. I bought the green cause it was on sale, but might get the black because it's such a good belt.

Comments about Patagonia Tech Web Belt:
While other belts are 48" long, this belt is only 47" (at least mine was). That lost inch does make a difference. It will fit a 40" waist, but JUST BARELY. Forget about loosening the belt for any extra room. The width is 1.5".
Given the stiffness of the belt (read sturdy), it does bunch up a bit at the buckle. Not a big deal, just more than other web belts.
I'll keep it just to throw in my luggage to have the bottle opener (its metal buckle sure to set off metal detectors if worn, plastic buckles better for traveling, though TSA seems to have difficulty grasping the fact that a buckle can be plastic).

Comments about Patagonia Tech Web Belt:
This belt only has one issue. The webbing is quite stiff, creating a very bulky buckle area. It has softened up with use, but I have considered at times cutting off the webbing and replacing it with some webbing of the same width that is more flexible to reduce bulk. It does get better with time though. The buckle itself is great though. Its the main reason I haven't seriously considered another belt.

Comments about Patagonia Tech Web Belt:
Outstanding belt. I have tons of belts, including a good variety of web belts. This is definitely wider with a bigger buckle than my other web belts, but it only seems to improve it. Yes, you can open beers with it. It's not the easiest bottle opener, but it does work. I'm pretty sure the REI picture shows him opening the beer on the wrong side of the buckle though. It can be done that way, but it's much easier if you undo the belt and use the other side that has bottle-opener type grooves on the back of the buckle. Bottom line: I have two of this belt, and I want another.

I own two of these belts and they are my most commonly worn accessory. They don't slip and are a snap to cinch up.
