I use this watch everyday, but it was mainly purchased for me as a watch for work. I needed it to be water resistant and stand up to some abuse. I really like the fact that the actual crystal face of the watch is recessed a bit below the rest of the rubberized/plastic face. This creates a sort of "bumper" that absorbs and receives the brunt of the contact when I bump the watch into or rub it against things (which I, unfortunately, do often at work). This constant bumping/rubbing caused the demise of many of the crystals on my past watches. The hope that the aforementioned "bumper" on this watch would help it fare better than previous watches was actually one of the primary deciding factors on my husband choosing ith for me. It has, so far, lived up to expectations.

I had this watch for almost a year and I loved it. The chronograph and timer are both easy to use. Setting the time is also simple. I like the big-button indiglo, very easy to find in the pitch-black on backpacking trips. I took it off maybe a dozen times in the year I had it and I never had a problem with water resistance in the ocean, the pool, the shower, or a thunderstorm. I much prefer the velcro strap to a plastic one.

My single complaint about this watch is that after about six months, the velcro on the strap started thinning. The loop side was pulling the other side right off, so the strap became harder to keep closed. Eventually it ended up at the bottom of a lake on a kayak trip, and I have no doubt it will keep working down there for years. I will buy another, but this time I will bring it back to REI as soon as the strap starts going, instead of putting it off until it's too late!

easy to use affordable watch would recommend this i had a highgear watch which was difficult to use and fell apart and died a rapid death in no time but now i have a timex that hopefully will take a lickin and keep on tickin so far soo good

I love this watch because it doesn't slip around on your wrist and it's not too bulky... two things I usually have issues with when selecting a watch. I also like the positioning of the indiglo switch... easy to get to quickly.

I'm really into outdoor (snow and water) sports, so I needed something durable and waterproof.
