The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Seattle Sports Kayak Wall Cradles - Pair:
The cradle is not large enough to fit around the rear portion of the Kayak because of the built in keel. I used the bracket for the front and hung the rear portion with a strap from the ceiling. Not ideal, but it works ok.

This was a good choice for hanging my kayak in the garage. Well made, sturdy, can be used indoors or on an exterior wall.
The only thing that could be improved upon would be slightly thicker padding, but I just wrapped a small piece of spare closed cell foam around the contact points and it's more than adequate. A good buy!

Good price but new hardware is a must! Also, it really does not work too well with a Vapor 10, the kayak just isn't shaped to fit in the J-hooks. I added two straps of 3/4" webbing with quick release buckles and it seems to be working, so far. What I thought would be a 30 minute install, took nearly 4 hours and three trips to the hardware store. Once I figured out all the re-engineering and procured the proper hardware, it was a simple install.

After installing this rack I bought another one for my Thule car rack. It's maore than just a rack for kayaks and I probably will buy additional one to organize for several large bulky Itens such as paddles, skis, etc.
Throw away the cheap screws supplied with the rack and get some serious ones.

I am a simpler is better type of person. Have four kayaks and needed space. For the price, ease of install, and the room these save by having a wall full of yaks they get an above average review.
You can nitpick on scratching/cushion/etc, but no biggie. They do the job.
However, cheap, cheap, cheap, cheap garbage screws that even strip when installing by hand! What pieces of garbage. Are you kidding! Get steel screws and throw the garbage screws out.

I'm about to buy my 3rd pair of these. I installed them around the side of my house, where the kayaks are protected by the eves. I then wrap the kayaks in tarps. I would suggest tossing out the screws that come with them and use some #8 three inch deck screws. Also, it wouldn't hurt to wrap the foam padding with mill wrap plastic tape.

Installation: The idea of J hooks appealed to me because I needed to store my kayaks outside along my garage. I have a 14.5 foot Manitou 2 and a 17 foot sea kayak. I drilled pilot holes for the screws, but as I was installing the mount, the cheap aluminum screw heads began to strip. Three screws stripped completely and had to be removed with channel locks. The screws that did not strip had a nasty burr. One of the burrs left a nasty 1/16-1/8 of an inch scratch along the hull of one of the kayaks. Stability: The kayaks rolled out of the hooks easily, causing a safety hazard for kids and pets. I was able to rectify the problem with some light rope. Value: At [$] a pop, I realize that these hooks are at the lower end of what's out there; however, there isn't a whole lot to these things. They could have made the hooks deeper, and at the very least included STEEL SCREWS.

Comments about Seattle Sports Kayak Wall Cradles - Pair:
This rack (we bought two) was easy to install and holds our two sea kayaks securely without the need for straps. Because of the J-rack design, the kayaks take up little space in our garage. I did modify this rack by removing about 3 1/2 inches from each bar end to make it easier to load/unload our kayaks. This did not effect the stability of our particular kayaks which are 15 feet, 6 inches in lenght and about 21 inches in width. I also added extra padding to the bars against the wall. For larger kayaks, you would not need to modify these bars at all.
