by fromDO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Save your money! I purchased these shoes for my 5 year old to wear to kindergarten and they lasted less 2 weeks before both lacing systems began to fray and come apart. About a week after that the rubber on the tips of both toes started to come unglued. A few weeks after that, I noticed the soles had began to wear at a rate I have never seen his shoes wear. I would consider that he was doing something to the shoes, but a pair of TNF trail running shoes that my 16 year old had over the summer only lasted 2 months before they had many of the same issues. I of course blamed that on the teenager...oooops, I was wrong, it was just a poorly constructed shoe just as these are. NO MORE TNF SHOES IN THIS FAMILY. Next time I will special order the XAs from Salomon.

by fromShould have checked the reviews! Bought these for my 8 year old and they are falling apart in less than two months of normal use. The tread is pealing away, the top is shredding, and the tread is nearly worn away. Don't waste your money, [...]

by fromDurability issue Bought this shoe for my boy. Fits nicely for his high arch and wide feet. But it's not durable. I know that boys wear out their shoes fast, but within a week? The pull lace was great, no friction or snags. But the thing broke. Luckily they provided old fashioned regular laces. The synthetic leather frayed and glue for front tip came undone for both shoes.

by fromdisappointed I love the look of these shoes and my 5 year old thought they were comfortable, but the shoes are are just not made well. I noticed as soon as we got them home that the rubber stripping was peeling off the sides of the soles. My son loved the shoes and wanted to wear them to his first day of school the next day. He did and came home with shoes that looked a year old instead of a day old. Sadly we returned them and after reading the reviews I felt confident that another pair would do the same. It's a shame because they are nice shoes otherwise.

by fromNot durable These shoes have NOT held up well. I understand that our 4 year old boy wears them but they should not wear out in less than 2 months. The laces broke within a week and the tongue and upper parts of the shoe look like they've been through the war. I'm very disappointed with these shoes and feel like they should have been made much better for the price!

by fromMixed bag I bought three pairs of these for my three boys for back-to-school. They all liked them (which is amazing in itself) but two out of three have had problems with them. One had the rubber toe piece come up and is now flapping about. I bought Shoe Goo to glue it back. Then another one won't wear them any more because the laces won't stay tied. I have to go buy different laces that aren't as round and slippery. I'm not happy with that track record. No pun intended. I think I will stick to Nike or Adidas next go round.

by fromI would buy this again. I have twin boys in first grade. They are hard on shoes. Structurally, this is a solid shoe. It has held up well under 6 months of use. I had the same problem as the reviewer above with the stretch laces which frayed quickly. But the shoes also come with regular laces which work fine. (I eventually replaced the North Face laces with triathalon lace which continue to hold up just fine). The sole has held together well. It is far better than a lot of the junk sold as kids shoes.

by fromI am buying these again I bought these about a year ago for my 4 and 7 year old. They wear them daily for anything from school to basketball to hiking to playing in the stream. I've washed them amny times and they still look great. I'm buying another pair for my oldest because he has out grown the first pair. Well worth the money.
