Rated4out of5bychupawfromA great boot!I live in Alaska in an area surrounded by gorgeous mountains with fantastic hiking trails everywhere. Over the past 20 years, my husband and I have hiked many easy and flat trails as well as many steep and harsh terrains. So, the footwear that we use is very important to us. This year it was time for some new hiking boots so I decided to try the Zamberlan 310 Skill GT's. When I tried them on at the store they felt really good--not too stiff or soft. The sales associate said these boots would not need as much breaking in time as other boots. Boy was she right! I wore them to work several days and my feet felt great in them all day. I went hiking in them soon after and felt like I should have bought these boots years ago. My feet were perfectly comfortable even on the steepest trails. They had great traction except on very wet scree or rocks. They also lack traction on wet vinyl which I found out when I wore them to work. But I don't wear them to work everday (or walk on wet vinyl)or hike on extremely wet days. All in all, I really love these boots!

Rated4out of5byTreked the AlpsfromAmazing, well balance bootI just returned from hiking in the Swiss and Italian Alps. I was very nervous about picking the right boot for this trip. Well, these boots are just about perfect. I did several long hikes in advance to make sure I didn't suffer from any hot spots, or blisters. Good results. In fact, I switched to a light weight, summer sock, as I did experience that my feet were getting too hot when first testing them out. In Switzerland and Italy we did just about everything you can imagine on a long 4-day trek, steep acents, and decents, large boulder, and small shale rock climbing, many small creeks, snow (with gators on), and in fact at lower elevations cow dung with water (I know gross), but these boots were my salvation, and frankly, I am not sure I could have make this hike without them. We had some very challenging cliff scaling situations, and this boots not only have tons of support, they allowed me to pinch my toe box in the most tight situations. I am a tenderfoot, and my entire body was tired after this adventure, but truthfully my feet felt GREAT.

Rated5out of5byRebecca LfromMost excellent hiking bootsI wear these boots nearly every day to work (arborist) and on hikes and daily dog walks. This is my second purchase of the same boots. I have bouts of plantar fasciitis and these boots are the answer to that repair for me. The support is phenomenal - best boots I've ever had, intend to keep buying the exact same boots every two years. Have written Zamberlan to rave about their boots.

Rated5out of5byJaimie the Backpacking GuidefromBest. Boots. Ever.My first pair lasted me over 3 years as a backpacking and hiking trail guide in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. That alone is amazing. I used to suffer from blisters, but do not even worry at all about that anymore. These are the best boots I have ever tried and I have been backpacking and hiking for over 17 years and leading trips for over 13 years. I just broke in my second pair of these boots while leading a 4 day trip in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in some of the most rainy, wet conditions I have experienced and my feet were completely dry the entire time. These boots are light and comfortable, give great ankle support and even look great. They are everything I could want in a boot and more. As long as they continue this style, I would never buy anything else!

Rated5out of5byVastness SeekerfromBest boots I've ever ownedI've had these boots for about 2 years and ~500 miles of hiking. I've used them in mud, through streams, across sand dunes, and on variously strenuous hikes including some over 3000 foot elevation gains in the Smoky Mountains and Yosemite. Day hikes as well as week-long backpacking trips. The boots have always been comfortable, I've never had a blister in them, and they required essentially no breaking in. I use the recommended HydroBlok cream on them once in a while, and after 2 years they're still waterproof. Excellent arch support also. When these finally wear out, I'll get another pair!

Rated5out of5byaslusersfromPerfect boot for meI've won the boot lottery with these boots. They fit my feet wonderfully and feel fabulous. I love putting them on.
I wear an 8.5 in street shoes, but wear a 9.5 (9H) in the Zamberlans.
The full grain leather is beautiful and shape to my feet like gloves. The tips of the toe boxes are scratched, but I think of them as battle scars and care for the leather carefully. (A boot with a rubber toe bumper would prevent these scratches, but you trade off breathability in that area.)
The Skills have very solid construction (stiff). The boot does a lot of work for me, and that let's me keep up with my fast walking husband and walk longer before I get tired.
My favorite detail about these boots is that the underside of the tongue is generously padded all the way down to my toes. Luscious! When I crank down on the laces for downhills, it's soft and huggy on the tops of my feet. Why doesn't every company do this?!
Another thing I enjoy in these boots is one set of the lace hooks (the first ones above the loops) locks the laces in place. This allows me to maintain two different zones of lace tightness without having to do any fancy lacing techniques from Ian's shoelace website. :)
Every foot needs and enjoys different boots. I'm so happy I found the boots that fit my feet so well. Makes me want to throw them on an go for a hike whenever I can.

Rated4out of5byMEBfromSolid bootsGreat boots. Bought this to replace a pair I'd bought elsewhere that didn't live up to expectations on a 3-week trip to Mongolia. These boots are supportive and comfortable. However, I do find that the traction on wet rocks when scrambling is not great.
