Comments about Feedback Sports Pro Ultralight Repair Stand:
I needed a better way to clean my bike (than turning it upside down on my patio table). This stand did what I needed.
It is easy to manipulate when needing the bike at different angles (I clap on my top tube as the seat post is not far enough away from the frame). It is very easy to clamp and lock into place.
I bought this version b/c I wanted maximum stability. The 3 legs spread wide & are heavy enough to provide this. I do bring the stand with me when I go on long/multi-day bike trips w/ my car. But I have an Outback. It crosses the entire back from side to side, so it is not compact.
While I mainly point out the shortcomings, it is more to help you understand. I do like this stand a lot, it does what I need and what I wanted.

Comments about Feedback Sports Pro Ultralight Repair Stand:
I bought the Feedback Sports Ultimate Pro Ultralight Repair Stand about a month ago for general servicing of my mountain bikes. The stand is well made, strong, and sturdy, providing a great working platform to work on the bikes.
However, after a month of use, the slide-lock mechanism started exhibiting problems. It was no longer easy to slide the clamp open or closed. Very often it did not open fully and I had to loosen the knob to release the bike, and I end up turning it until the knob comes off before the clamp would slide out (off the threaded rod) so that I could remove the bike. In this state it became increasingly difficult to use because you need two hands to clamp the bike in, leaving nothing to support the bike.
Needless to say, it was returned. REI took it back and I "upgraded" to the Feedback Sports Pro-Elite Stand and have been happy with it since.
BTW, this stand does not come with a tote bag for easy transportation, while the slightly more expensive Elite version came with a nice canvas tote bag.

Comments about Feedback Sports Pro Ultralight Repair Stand:
Good stand, lightweight, easy to set up. One gripe would be that the clamp on the bike is a twist thing, not a quick clamp like others. But once the bike is in, it is quite secure.

Comments about Feedback Sports Pro Ultralight Repair Stand:
yeah its a bit pricy but well worth it. The stand is very sturdy and holds the bike still. The best feature is that it folds up really small. I store it in my coat closet and it really doesnt take up much room at all.

Comments about Feedback Sports Pro Ultralight Repair Stand:
First, the comments about heavy bikes above are right - but most serious bikes should be in the 20s or 30s, not 50 lbs. I can't imagine heading out to the mountains without this stand in my car...it opens easily, stores easily, has a carry bag, and I've never had a bike fall off or tip over in 12 years of using it. It still looks like new and I use it all the time. This is a great purchase and makes bike repairs much easier - especially cable adjustments and crank / BB repairs or cleaning.

Comments about Feedback Sports Pro Ultralight Repair Stand:
Overall it's a nice stand. The reason I came to REI.com today was to see if they sell a replacement clamp. It is that bad. While it does clamp firmly enough it is very awkward to close it while holding a bike.

Comments about Feedback Sports Pro Ultralight Repair Stand:
This is NOT meant for heavy bikes. I have an Electra Cruiser with a few things on it, total weight of 50 lbs. And most importantly it flexed due to the weight. It was not very stable. It made terrible creaking sounds. It is not possible to rotate a heavy bike on the stand since the weight of the bike will cause too much friction for it to spin.
The actual act of lifting a heavy bike up and holding it in the stand long enough to tighten the knobs is way more work than just flipping the bike over.
Also it is hard to find a place on the frame of an Electra to actually grip it. Granted that is mostly due to the fact that Electras have very curvy frames and cable routing on all of them, but many bikes would have similar issues.
I would imagine trying to put a tandem or an xtracycle on it would be suicide.
I think this would be great for lightweight bikes, but no way can it handle 50 lbs safely (or effectively) let alone 85 lbs. It would be a good product if it were marked that the limit was a little less than 50 lbs.

Comments about Feedback Sports Pro Ultralight Repair Stand:
Purchased this after reading the online reviews and speaking with the local REI bike mechanic. Very happy with the purchase. Quick setup, held my bike well. As another mentioned, it can be a little wobbly while cranking, but it's very stable overall.

Comments about Feedback Sports Pro Ultralight Repair Stand:
I needed just a basic repair stand for cleaning chains and light maintenance work. I bought this stand home since they had it set up in the store and I liked how stable it was.
The stand is very easy to set up but clamping the bike in place was a different story. I found the clamping mech not the easiest to use and you had to try and hold a bike in place while turning the dial to clamp in place. To remove the bike was also the same problem. The clamping mech is strong and holds the bike but it would be nice if it was easier to open and close.
After using it a number of times I decided I didn't like the clamp since it wasn't user friendly and I returned the stand. I picked up the Ultimate Pro Elite stand which has a much better clamping system. The Pro Elite is worth the price difference.
