The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Merrell Moab Ventilator Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
I'm a sworn Vasque user. I only wear Vasque Breeze boots, and they haven't steered me wrong yet. I was surprised to find this pair of Merrills fit me at an REI Garage Sale last weekend. I'm a woman who normally wears a women's 10/men's 8, and though these are a mens 8.5, they fit perfectly.
I wore these for 20 miles this weekend, and feel like I took a light stroll in the park. They're much lighter than my Vasques (4 oz lighter per foot) and super comfortable. No blisters, good grop on rock slabs, and after a coating of waterproofing spray, didn't leak when I sunk in some mud.
The only downside is its thin sole. I'm used to being able to walk on the most jagged rocks in my Vasques without feeling anything, but with these, I could feel each and every point. They're great for a day hike (if you watch where you're stepping!), but I probably wouldn't backpack with them.

Comments about Merrell Moab Ventilator Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
I walk 6-14 miles per day for work so I am a little picky about footwear. They are light, which is nice. They basically needed zero break in. Good ankle support and traction. My issue, which I bought them knowing they were not water resistant, is that they are like a sponge. My feet were soaked by morning dew by 8am. Like I said, I bought them knowing that they had no water resistance. I thought I could treat them to no avail.
The shoe could use a bit more padding. I'm 6'2 230lbs, I felt like the shoe could have more padding in the forefront. I havent had that much luck with insoles.
If you want a great light weight hiker where you will not incounter moisture, this is a great great boot.

I am a professional guide in East Africa, bought these boots and put on a 75 lbs. pack for four days of hiking. They were just flawless, supportive and very comfortable.
It doesn't get any better than that for a pro.

Comments about Merrell Moab Ventilator Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
I've been so pleased with these boots that I'm on my second pair. Had the first pair for a few years now, and they are still in pretty good shape, but have been relegated to my "working in the yard boots". I wore them on a few 30+ mile hikes in Utah and Wyoming, and then a few times a week commuting in Chicago for the past three years. Exterior had held up pretty well; nothing has come un-glued that I can see though most of the heel tread has been worn down. As far as the insides go, the interior heel material has worn away, but this hasn't caused any discomfort in wearing them.
Had the new pair for a few months now, and the are in great shape. Hope they last a few years like my old pair. I'm even tempted to by a spare pair and keep in the box in case Merrill decides to stop making them.

I love these boots. I bought them for summer hiking because gore tex is just too hot. They were comfortable out of the box and have done great on hikes.

Comments about Merrell Moab Ventilator Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
After only a couple of short outings (2-3 miles)with these boots, I expect they will suit my needs just fine.
The only reason for only 4 stars is because I've not had a chance to test them foe any lenght of time.
So far, the boots are very comfortable. They're light weight, easy to put on and take off, and provide good arch support, which was critical for my high arches.
No reason to complain about anything at this time.

This was my first hiking boot purchase for 5-6 times a week hiking. Very comfortable, seems like there was no break-in period. They are very light and comfortable. Very pleased with the purchase and they were very helpful at the store.

Very lightweight and comfortable but a bit fragile in manufacture - tearing occuring sooner than desired.

I wear these every day to work, for casual walking and when I go for a real walk with the dogs. I love them. My only complaint is having to go up a size to get the width I needed, it makes the boot a bit too big.
