The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Shimano SH-56 Multi-Directional Release SPD Cleats:
The clips out lasted my last pair of riding shoes. I bought the new pair just because, the old ones were fine at "15 YEARS OLD". My Shimano pedals are the same age and the new clips just slid right in with no problems. Loved the connectivity over the years with the Shimano produces.

Comments about Shimano SH-56 Multi-Directional Release SPD Cleats:
These cleats are the perfect fit for my spinning shoes. My previous cleats were not the right ones and I felt like I had to wrench my ankle just to get my shoes out of the clips on the spinning bike. Now it is easy peasy to clip in and out. The clerk at the store installed them for me. great service. thanks

Comments about Shimano SH-56 Multi-Directional Release SPD Cleats:
I have an ankle injury, and the SH51 cleat was a little bit difficult for me. I am not a new bicyclist, and I have been using SPDs for a while. I just never felt smooth when using the SH51 cleat.
That said, I LOVE these! They are so nice. I read on the internet that I could accidentally release when pedaling hard. I have tried to accidentally release by mashing up some big hills in a high gear, and it has not happened to me.
To disengage the pedal, my foot feels like it travels the same distance, at the same angle, as the SH51. But instead of having to wrench really hard to get out, there is a "lighter" click, and my foot is out. I have the cleat tension adjusted a lot higher than when I was using the SH51, so the feeling from getting out of the pedal is a lot more affirmative, and keepds me from thinking my foot is free, when I have not gotten out yet.
Added bonus: I can honestly tell people that I have no concerns about falling over on my bicycle, and it makes clipless pedals appeal more to people who do not use them. Not that I failed to get out the pedals a lot before, but now I do not think it is possible for my foot to not get free in time.

Comments about Shimano SH-56 Multi-Directional Release SPD Cleats:
One of the mounting bolts broke while installing the cleat. Only mild torque was being used. The first 3 bolts were installed with no problem. The bolt head just snapped off. Thankfully, this happen at installation and not on the road.

Comments about Shimano SH-56 Multi-Directional Release SPD Cleats:
Just started riding clipless this Summer and the single-directional clips that came with my SPD pedals were great but pretty sticky when trying to release. Felt a little sketchy when riding/stopping with city traffic so I decided to try these multiple-directional cleats and am much more satisfied. They don't release unexpectedly while riding but are still easy to dis-engage from multiple directions.

Comments about Shimano SH-56 Multi-Directional Release SPD Cleats:
I used to be an avid cyclist when I was younger but now I am more recreational rider. I recently switched from my old toe clips to the SPD pedals. The cleats that came with my shoes were OK but I wanted to be able to get out more quickly and reliably, so I bought the multiple release cleats (SH-56). I went out with one shoe with the original (SH-51) cleats and the other with the new multiple release (56). After trying one foot then another the difference didn't seem so great. However, when I tried both feet at once (as in an emergency), the multiple release came out every time and the original cleats did not. I definitely will stick to the new multiple release cleats.
