Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Rated5out of5byfromGood working sport ropeI have used this rope (cut into two 30 meter lengths, the other length used by a friend) for two years for lots of sport routes in North and Central Texas and Oklahoma (25- to 50-foot tall routes, the best length!). It still has a nice 'hand' after lots of use, has absorbed many falls, is tough, and light weight for its 10.2 mm durability. It is a good rope for working sport routes, and sending on-sights and red points too. Especially for short routes. It is priced nicely too. I am buying another now to replace the first. I have a different 9.1 mm rope I use for alpine.

Rated4out of5byfromNICE ROPEI started climbing about a year ago, and this was my first rope. This rope Is AWESOME for a first rope, to be used for top roping and easy sport climbs, its affordable, and it gets the job done. Because I was just getting into the sport, I didnt want to spend alot of money on a rope, but i wanted something that would be safe and effective, this rope fit the bill. However Now that Im climbing more, and doing more sport climbing, I will probably invest in something lighter and more resistant, when this rope wears out. But for Now, Im happy with its performance.

Rated4out of5byfromNICE ROPEI FORGOT TO MENTION THAT ONE THING THAT WOULD MAKE THIS ROPE BETTER IS IF THE MIDDLE WERE MARKED....ITS EASY ENOUGH TO DO IT YOURSELF BUT, IT WOULD BE NICE IF IT WERE MARKED. STILL A GOOD ROPE THOUGH, SPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE! AND REI IS AWESOME!!

Rated3out of5byfromdurable workhorseThis is a good regular rope, no bells, no whistles (although it is dry treated)just a good rope. It's only real highlight is its low price. This is the first rope that I have personally owned, and I've had it for a little over a year and it has performed to my satisfaction. It's seen mostly top rope duty and a little over a dozen or so multi-pitch climbs in NY, NJ, and ME. It's taken three notable leader falls of about 10 feet and countless hangdogging sessions on lead and toprope without severely kinking the rope. I do have a rope bag with a tarp but I believe the dry treatment has helped resist a lot of dirt and stuff from getting on/in the rope. I've run it through dirt filled gulleys on toprope, dropped the ends into a puddle muck on rappel, my partner has trampelled it with boots while belaying me at the base of a climb...it's generally been used and abused. As a first rope for a novice or beginner it's a fine rope, maybe great when you consider the price for a dry treated rope. But here are some traits I'll try to avoid in my next rope: It's on the thick/fat side (which may give beginners more confidence...whatever gets you up the pitch) but it also doesn't feed as freely or quickly through belay/rap devices. It's stiff. Tying knots in short sections of the rope isn't hard but it could be easier if the rope was more willing to bend. It did get easier to work with the rope as it got borken in. It's heavy. Cleary a function of it's thickness but something to consider if you have to carry this rope plus gear a significant distance. No middle mark. This makes things way easy on rappel. It's also a good indicator to the belayer of how much rope is left when you're on lead.

Rated5out of5byfromwork ropeThis is my second Equinox rope and I would have no other. I've used plenty of different brands and for the price and durability this is the right choice. My last one served me on lead climbs and top-rope climbs for five years until I voluntarily retired it for peace of mind. Nylon ropes only have a 9-year shelf life so five years in the field was long enough for me. Even at the end it worked well and didn't have a single fray, kink, or any other defect. It was strong and took a beating with grace!

Rated4out of5byfromNice rope for a great priceBought this rope for climbing with my kids. Safety is the key factor and wanted a new rope to use just with them. The price was great and it's a nice looking rope. It's pretty heavy but we wont be using it for any multi-pitch climbs anyway, it's also pretty stiff but I think it will become more supple with use.

Rated5out of5byfromGood beginners topropeJust started toproping 3 weeks ago and this is my first rope. The price was perfect for me and the diameter is very comfortable. I've used it about 10 toproping climbs and it works great. I gave it 5 stars because I'm not sure what to compare it to and I haven't noticed anything that I don't like about it.
