REI Camp Dome 2 Tent is rated 4.3509 out of 5 by 57.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought another Used about 50 days so far in 2 years, four days on kayak/camping in 13 states and Alberta, CA, all months. All locations where tent pegs can be inserted. Rained on heavily 7 times, once for 10 hours with thunder, lightening, winds -- slept through it all and dry. Tent,2 stratus air mattress,2 inflatable pillow,2 sleeping bags, portable collapsible toilet (with bags)total weight less than 24 pounds and fits easily in larger of our touring kayak (Perception Carolina 14) hatch with room for 2 gallons of water. Woke up one night during a long camping trip thinking "It's nice to be sleeping on one's one mattress", woke-up, was sleeping in tent. Bought another 4 sleeper and used it with grand kids (3,7,11). It accomodated the kids and one 5' tall grandparent, even with one child who rotates in sleep. Used it without fly on hot summer primitive camps, doesn't block out small breezes. Two openings are great, one of us is an early riser and it allows the other to sleep a bit longer. Set up and break down is very fast and easy and now, one of us can set it up alone. Do look at the video before setting up for first time if unfamiliar with this type of tent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this tent! Being a woman over 60, who hasn't slept on the ground much for a few years.. I was looking for something easy enough for me to carry and set up by myself, when I can get away for a night or two. I've used it a couple week-ends already and it's been great. It is SUPER easy to put up. I really like being able to see the sky from inside. It has been a bit windy and it's been fine but I haven't had to try the rain flap yet (and hope not to). It is small but I have 2 sleeping mats that fit perfectly. I would appreciate a little larger tent myself, that I could stand up in, but made the conscious decision to keep it easy enough for me to handle. I made that trade-off and will probably end up using this one more since it is soooo easy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Motorcycle Camping: 16 days later... I purchased this for use on a 16 day, 5000 mile motorcycle round trip from Minneapolis to Lubec, Maine. Size, weight and cost were my deciding points. I set this tent up in a variety of weather conditions and times of day ranging from Nebraska, Kansas City, St Louis, Maryland, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Michigan and Wisconsin. After arriving to camp a few times in the dark, I was able to set this tent up with little or no light. Set-up and take-down take about 15 minutes each. I got what I paid for and I am satisfied.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Tent, Great Price I bought this tent to go camping with the Boy Scouts. My Son and I fit just fine in the tent with room for a couple extra pieces of gear. It is a great tent for one person, with room for all of your extra gear. I love that it has doors on both sides. It makes it easy for two people to get in and out. It is easy to set up, only take a few minutes, and it has aluminum poles, much better than fiberglass. So far I have used it in three different seasons. In the summer up in the Mountains, did just fine. Out in the Northern Utah Deserts, a fierce wind storm came up, with 40-50 mph gusts at times. With the tent staked down and in the blowing rain I was fine. It shook like mad in the wind, but stayed put, and I was dry. The coldest temps I have been in with it have been in the high 20's. I did notice condensation on the inside. And most recently I used it in a very soggy environment when it rained all night. I recommend getting the footprint with the tent. In the morning the bottom of my air mattress was wet, I should have used the foot print, or a tarp. I plan to use it in the snow next month. I think it will be just fine. I would recommend this tent to any body looking for a decent tent at a decent price. I plan to buy one for my son so he can have his own.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Do some research, and then get this tent I was looking for 2 person tent for me and my wife to do some backpacking and I did A LOT of research to find the perfect tent. I wanted to get a light, but also inexpensive tent, and when I went to the REI store I was shown a bunch of tents, but not this one. When I asked about it, I was told that it was just too heavy, and that it was better for car camping. Several representatives told me about how awesome the Half Dome was though, so I was about to get that, but then I saw the tent stats for both the half dome and the Camp Dome and I noticed that this one is actually lighter than the half, and for about half the price. I've used in a bunch of times now and am very happy with it. It's easy to set up, light to carry, and it's roomy enough for me and my wife. If you are over 6 feet tall though, don't get this tent. I'm exactly foot, and if I were any taller, there just wouldn't be room for 2 people and gear. Also, it's a sturdy tent with a fly that is great for almost all conditions, but if I planned on camping in VERY harsh weather, I would get a tent with a fly that extends to the ground.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well done! I was helping a friend do her shopping for the World Race, as she came to me for help with things like packs and sleeping bags. When I found she needed a tent, I was excited to do my homework. Then I found this tent, and the search was over. A light weight, compact, well-ventelated, 2man tent was just what she needed, and to find an REI brand product at this good a price was a dream. And it's true. Good, strong aluminum poles, 2 big, easy to work doors, and a set-up that makes logical sense. What else do you need? (Note: I am a 6'4" 225lb male. This would be a 1 man tent for me. Under 6ft is a requirement for this to be a 2 man.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good little tent Bought this for backpacking/car or motorcycle camping. I chose a small 2 person so that I could use it either with a partner, or keep all my gear inside the tent solo. I tested it out with another person in the backyard, and it was definitely cramped. There is no way you'd be able to fit any gear in the tent with you, and the rain fly is not large enough to protect packs (even day packs). If I were hiking with someone else, I'd bring a tarp. When I brought it on a solo trip in Glacier, it was perfect, size-wise. I was able to fit all my gear in it, without feeling like I had brought a house with me. I'm 5'8", and I can't imagine anyone much taller than me being very comfortable, unless they slept diaganally, though. But for me, it was fine. I haven't tested it out in rain or high winds yet, so I can't comment on that. Overall, I like this tent. It's easy to set up alone, a good size (for 1 hiker...), and has handy pouches and loops all over the inside for gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Used this tent for the first time at a motorcycle rally camp out. Rained all night long for three nights. First night had 100 mph shear winds and extremely heavy rain. Had no problems, me and ALL my gear stayed dry. Great choice!! Only con was I had to supply 4 extra guide lines and 6 pegs to secure the fly for the heavy winds.
