Comments about Canari Microlight Shell - Men's - Special Buy:
I bought this because I liked the yellow color and I also have another Canari Shell jacket from 2007 but that jacket is made out of the Canari Biovent. This jacket is made from the Canari Windshear material. I don't like this windshear material compared to the Biovent. I rotate jackets and the Windshear leaves me twice as sweaty and uncomfortable as compared to the Biovent. Same shell jacket, different material. Now I won't wear it.

Comments about Canari Microlight Shell - Men's - Special Buy:
Because this shell is not breathable, whenever I've worn the jacket on a ride I've overheated within the first 20 minutes - I'm talking soaking wet overheated, not just slight discomfort. So the jacket is not good for aerobic activities, but is fine for strolling in the rain. I sometimes take it on backpacking trips as a backup rain jacket because it is light. In sum, this jacket is not good for its advertised use.

Comments about Canari Microlight Shell - Men's - Special Buy:
After reading the reviews on this I was afraid to buy, however once I received my order I found it better than I hoped. I was comparing this one to the Pearl Izumi jacket. The Pearl Izumi material has a slight rubbery feel to it, while Canrai is more crisp. They are very very similar in thinness and feel over all. I ordered the Blazing Yellow but it is really bright green compared to Izumi, which I also like. If you are ordering this jacket do get one size bigger than you need as they run small in the cut. As for the price I could buy four Canari's to one Izumi jacket and I would be more happy with more jackets to alternate.

Comments about Canari Microlight Shell - Men's - Special Buy:
I bought this primarily to increase visibility after too many death-by-car accidents happened within my community. The eye-jarring yellow/green does a good job for that. Secondarily, I bought the largest size to fit over clothing which adds a layer for cold-weather (often the case here). It bunches up to practically nothing and drys quickly. It does have limitations, however: no rain protection (not often a problem in CO), no pockets, zipper gets caught in material unless you are careful. But for my purposes, it is ideal and cheap.

Comments about Canari Microlight Shell - Men's - Special Buy:
I generally will purchase men cycling clothing because it seems to be cheaper. I have purchased other jacket and cycling pants before and they fit perfect. This was just cut wrong and felt uncomfortable. It was short in length too. I really really wanted to like this jacket because I needed a bright jacket for riding, but it just didn't like me! I returned it immediately! DARN! Now I will have to pay more for a better one! You get what you pay for is what they say! [...]

Comments about Canari Microlight Shell - Men's - Special Buy:
I'm a 41 and the XL (which supposedly fits 44-46) is just right over a long-sleeved layer - the sleeve length and torso length are fine. Luckily my friend who bought it for me knew better than to get the M.
Used and abused it for a year, got the zipper stuck the other day and bollixed it up getting it off, time for a new one now. I'm upgrading to something breathable with pockets and a vent flap or pit zips and/or removable sleeves. This one will go in the bin of bike stuff we keep around to loan to house guests.

As other reviewers have stated, this jacket does not breathe. Therefore, once you are warmed up = warm, you'll need to shed this jacket and store it in your bag or jersey pouch.

Comments about Canari Microlight Shell - Men's - Special Buy:
Greatly disappointed when it arrived. Way smaller than even the size chart suggest. Its a quality item, just consider a Man's large to be a Womans large, and so forth. It's also a [$] MSRP retail item not[$] as made out to be by REI. Actually had the MSRP Tage on it for [$]

Comments about Canari Microlight Shell - Men's - Special Buy:
I wore one of these most days last spring (cool and moist near Seattle) on a 13-mile each way commute. Very visible here; solar orange is a good contrast with green (better than the yellow/green color). Never seemed to make me feel damp, though it alsways had moisture inside; just turn it inside out to dry off.
