REI Members get back an estimated $ 3.25 on this item as part of their annual member refund.

    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not puncture resistant at all These tire have never found a goat head they didn't like. I am in the middle of fixing my 6th or so flat. I'm pretty dissapointed with these tires.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ahh yeah I bought these and tossed them on an old KHS Montana for my 9mile (one way) daily commute. On the road the roll resistance is significantly lower than the nubby MTB tires I was using previously. They actually shorted my commute by about 4 minutes. Several sections of my commute frequently have broken glass and debris, in 300 miles I have yet to get a flat. They perform well when rainy however If you do ride in the rain a lot I would highly suggest getting some fenders. I managed to get road grit kicked up halfway up my back.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good size hole in less than < 10 miles I may be the exception to the mostly positive reviews, mine is quality based... I have an 8 year old MTB that I wanted to use on my short commute to work. I debated between tire liners and totally new tires. Since my original tires were pretty beat I decided on new puncture resistant tires. I read reviews around the web and decided on this tire after reading all the wonderful reviews. I did have high resistance on these tires. They also are very soft, so I don't see them lasting too long. I commute only 2 miles roundtrip to work (all pavement), and on my fourth trip to work (<10 miles) I took a 200 ft gravel portion to grab my helmet from my storage unit and back to pavement for another 500 yards before hearing a loud hiss from my front tire. I found the hole immediately and noticed a good size hole in the lower indentation area of the center of tread. I could not believe it. Puncture resistant? Not so much. I imagine it was from a rock, but I could not tell since it was not there. They are not as rugged as they say, more like a standard street tire. I may have had a bad tire, but I traded them in for Michelin City Trekking and am hoping to have a better experience. I will make sure to not take them on rocks, since the Michelins are definitely not as rugged looking as the Serfas. REI was great as always about taking care of me, thank you REI!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice but... I ride 3-5 times a week, hardtail Mountain Bike set up more like a Roadie. All on suburban streets, lots of hills where I live, rough asphalt, hostile traffic. Changed to this tire after being disappointed with the puncture resistance of Conti Town & Country tires. Had my 3rd flat (a blowout, on a descent) on the Conti's and that was enough. Switched only the rear tire to the Serfas and can confirm; IT HAS MORE ROLLING RESISTANCE. Even thouhg the Conti's weigh a little less (20g) you can't tell it. I have to work harder now, up, down and level. Lost 1 mph on all of my fav descents. BUT, this tire gives me much more confidence that I won't have the flats as often as before. If you ride for fitness the extra work is possibly a bonus. Commuters might exert a little more energy than they are used to, but getting there is better than walking your bike with a flat. It is very stable and seems a good overall choice after several rides.
